  1. Just relax, fella.
  2. He's not my cup of tea but any idea if he's fit to play this afternoon?
  3. But he may have had smoked brats with ketchup, honey mustard, vinegar and topped with cheesy chips last night.
  4. I dont have Twitter so no idea if this kid is a gobshite or not.
  5. @Harry 209 - looks like CFS do admit to it not being the authentic lettering, but they're quite cute with their wording as to whether the namesets are legit or third party. Example 1 here That's definitely the original nameset and numbers from the 90s (I know the players didnt play with the adidas logo on), they list the name and numbers as "Official adidas felt print" Same with the more modern, stuff like this Wilson one here. Again listed as "official" printing. But the third party namesets that aren't the originals are listed as, "original style".
  6. Think I’m just going to send the shirt back and buy the remake top and use the Asprilla 11 nameset I got from footballicons.uk, if the best I can get is an authentic shirt with a third-party nameset then at least I’ll be doing it at a fraction of the price of what CFS are offering. Will still have the £150 gift voucher for CFS so will see if any decent non-NUFC related gear pops up in the future. Shame like, as I just assumed everything CFS sold was genuine. Didn’t realise they’d had a bit of a shoddy rep.
  7. There is an idea of Newcastle-Online, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real N-O, only an entity, something illusory, and though the posters can hide their cold gaze and you can shake our hands and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: smoke stained Newcastle United collars from 1995 to 1997 are simply not there.
  8. I just assumed CFS were buying them off sellers with the names already printed (and CFS making sloppy assumptions that the name sets were authentic .)
  9. Thought that was for academy graduates only?
  10. I’ve been refreshing the website to see how much they’re listing it for but it’s not gone on sale yet! tbh you can get stain remover specifically designed for whites with a built in brush at the end of the tube and depending on how light your stain is I’d probably go with that to begin with?
  11. Don’t have any photos of it before I applied the paste but this is it after I had managed to whiten it. Photos doesn’t do it justice as it actually ended up a lot whiter than the stripes on the body of the shirt. Youre messing with quite a bit of peroxide by combining the three ingredients I mentioned above, I went overkill as the collar was like SSNs breaking news ticker. All I can say is if you’re going to follow the above method then take it easy to start and gradually increase it. @MidfieldGeneral @Harry 209
  12. For reference the stains that it removed were the yellowing from cigarettes so not sure if it’d work on actual food stains or anything like.
  13. Sprayed the collar with Sainsbury’s home made stain remover and let it soak for about 20 mins. Then made a paste from The Pink Stuffs oxi powder remover (specifically designed for whites), a little baking soda and a sachet of Dr Beckmanns whitening powder. Combined the three with a little warm water until it was a thick paste and rubbed it in with a toothbrush. Let that soak for about 1hr then gave it a delicate wash with a scoop of The Pink Stuffs white stain remover. After 1 wash it was 90% gone. Gave it another wash with the same white stain remover the next day and the collar was basically back to normal. Both washes were 20degrees 1 hour each. already had all the whitening powders and stain removers thankfully so just had to buy the baking soda and toothbrush!
  14. Aye I packed it up as soon as it failed the eye test and before I even started googling original name sets. First time I’ve used CFS so was assumed they had done their research before flogging it.
  15. The thickness in the black and white borders is a giveaway also.
  16. Aye it’s a dud nameset. Cheers
  17. Aye that’s what I’m after please bud.
  18. Have you got an original with original lettering @Harry 209 that I can compare against before I send it back? It’s packed away just want to be doubly sure.
  19. Nah it’s the felt and double layered but can’t tell straight away that it’s not right. The letters are smaller, thinner and more compact than the original name sets from the 90s. The Asprilla and 11 are both brand spanking new and pearly white. No aging whatsoever, clearly purchased from a third-party site and recently printed on the shirt. Sickener like as the shirt is in absolutely incredible condition.
