Nobody
Come on England! Not really fussed about the qualifiers (in Sweden, everyone is jizzing over the national team as soon they even play a friendly), but I love the big tournaments, and today is a very important game! Skirge
I bet there is trouble tonight, the Russian footy nutters are well up for it, they modeled themselves on the English football hooligans..

Karjala
Lets see how this pitch plays? Im not sure it should make that much difference, especially to a good team trying to play good football on it. Plenty of champions leagues games have played there. Hope Owen doesn't get injured on it!
Disco
Thought they'd have managed to get a better kick off time. Bit inconvenient for the working majority of the country.

Im not sure it should make that much difference, especially to a good team trying to play good football on it. Plenty of champions leagues games have played there. Hope Owen doesn't get injured on it! Graham Taylor was talking about the pitch on the radio this morning. Apparently it's a very good modern artificial pitch and the only real difference it should make is that the ball tends to run along the ground a little quicker if it's wet...which it probably will be this afternoon. He couldn't see any real problems.
Karjala
Durham city have the same pitch down too...

Guest nufc_geordie
4 England fans have already been tw*ted in Russia. 6000 police on patrol to stop the hooligans. They expect major riots if England win and Russia are eliminated! Could be an interesting news in the morning! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7048137.stm

Mr. Snrub
Terry's out, isn't he? Means Lescott will fill in at CB and Shorey will go LB. Also waiting on McClaren to start Lampard and Gerrard in midfield together.

Skirge
England fans in hospital after fighting in Moscow Police spokesman says supporters provoked trouble Four England supporters have been taken to hospital after being involved in a fight in Moscow ahead of this afternoon's Euro 2008 qualifier against Russia. A spokesman for Moscow police confirmed that the injured fans had been taken to the Botkan hospital, but it was not immediately clear how serious their injuries were. He said the fans had been clubbing and drinking in central Moscow in the early hours of the morning and had apparently provoked a fight. The spokesman added that there had been as many as five fights in Moscow overnight involving England supporters. There are about 4,500 England fans in Moscow for the match, while the police have put 2,400 officers on duty in case of trouble, as well as providing armoured vehicles. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) later revealed that two of the supporters have since been discharged and the remaining two are expected to be released from hospital later today. An FCO spokesman could not confirm whether they were attacked by rival football supporters, but did say: "As with every international match, a lot of liaison does go on between the relevant policing authorities, the football associations and other interested parties so that everything runs smoothly and with the minimum of incident."
