Guest
If he'd left Derby when we first approached him then maybe he'd have had an input.

SiLvOR
I'm reserving judgement until I see his first team selection. Then I'll probably put my foot through the monitor. EDIT: First team selection for a non-friendly, of course.
STM
It's encouraging that he seems to despise hoofball.

The impression I've got is that he wasn't happy with the tour. Hopefully next year will be better. If he's still here.
ads
Refreshing honesty. Something we've not had for some time.
Pilko
For me our pre-season should be: - Kickabout with local side - Three-game tournament in Europe against at least one Europa League/CL-level side, otherwise top division sides at least - Two games against higher-end Championship teams - CL team at home the week before kick-off
Chicane
He seems quite honest and straightforward with his comments, no bullshit. I like that.
Tiresias
it's easy to be honest when there's nothing at stake yet. Still much better than anything cuntcuntcuntdew ever said
AyeDubbleYoo
When the pressure's on is the key, I can't really remember much of his past reaction. Anyway, he clearly knows a lot more about football so I don't really care what he says.
mozy
Number one characteristic to win over Newcastle fans is Honesty. I'm confident McClaren will continue to be honest with the fans.

Dave
A man not lying. Same as people jizzing over our transfer activity tbh.
Yorkie
I don't blame people, like. After four years of Pardew it's refreshing. Can't understand any real excitement re: transfers, like. The squad's still full of holes and the players we have signed should've been here weeks ago.
AyeDubbleYoo
We've made two very good signings. Can't really remember much jizz flying in any direction.

Kanji
For me our pre-season should be: - Kickabout with local side - Three-game tournament in Europe against at least one Europa League/CL-level side, otherwise top division sides at least - Two games against higher-end Championship teams - CL team at home the week before kick-off 100% agree. Would fancy a SJP tourney as well.

A real club would have arranged an SBR annual tournament between Ipswich, ourselves, PSV and Sporting....rotate around the clubs every year

mrmojorisin75
I think more appropriate for the club in its current state would be an annual Alan Pardew is a cunt tournament between ourselves, Charlton, West Ham, and Southampton. It would have the added advantage of not having to play games in Europe thus meaning we weren't relegated before the season starts.

The Atlas match seemed decent friendly and workout, not sure what the benefit of a couple of matches against non-MLS teams are though, particularly one where he's scared to play on the surface. Chizzletooth
Williamson reckons it's the most tactical work they've done in pre season for a long time. Quelle surprise
