Wallace
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chelsea-5-1-newcastle-five-10888758 2. Tactics, what tactics? It’s not just the onlookers who were bemused by what was going on out on the Stamford Bridge pitch - Newcastle players looked towards McClaren and assistant Paul Simpson for guidance during the game, but little arrived. Jonjo Shelvey in particular continued to remonstrate with the bench as the Magpies failed to impose any shape whatsoever on to their game. For the majority of the first half, McClaren continued to sit in the dugout though - refusing, or seemingly unable, to know how to change things. No substitutions arrived despite the awful start, while no obvious tactical change occurred either. It took until the interval for Jack Colback to be brought on, but by then the game was already long gone - and had been since the 17th minute. Chris Banaloona
How is it possible for him to be as long as 6/1? Bookies know the pricks going nowhere... Of course he isn't going anywhere
Guest Open_C
Think I prefer both Carver & Pardew over this twat. It's like choosing between hepatitis B and C tbh Disappointed at no love for Thomas's Steinbeck post though

Mattoon
Think I prefer both Carver & Pardew over this twat. All equally shit, but don't kid yourself that Pardew's sides didn't take multiple arse poundings like this with equally inept "footballing" displays or that Carver didn't think that tactics were a little mint you get in a plastic box. Out of the three I'd take McClaren every time, but that's not saying much other than I'd rather smear shit in my eyes than eat it while I was doing it. BONTEMPI
Would this squad be better off with Souness than McClaren?
mighty__mag
Its based on his attitude. I don't see him as a manager. Laughing after the game, and its not the first time. He's just a total bellend. Obviously Carver out of his depth and pardew smug and garbage, but what we have to go off over the past few seasons this guy is terrible. And he's been able to overhaul the squad and spend millions or between him and Carr spunk millions. We signed nothing but unfit players and positions that were unnecessary. Its just a mess. McClaren will take us down.
Wallsendmag
Ashley has 2 choices. Stick with him, we're relegated and he loses a fortune or sack him immediately and give ourselves half a chance. It's really as simple as that.

It is and I have been saying it for months but he still hasn't. We will know in the next 48 hours but I'm not holding my breath. My one hope is that with the money spent it must be near the time his trigger finger will be getting itchy.

He should boot Charnley out at the same time otherwise we'll end up with McClaren MKII if they do pull the trigger...

LoveItIfWeBeatU
"We caused our own problems. We knew Chelsea would come out quick. They wanted to win that game by half-time with the week they have ahead of them. You get one or two of these games a season. I've told the players don't let that derail us. It was damage limitation by half-time. I just wanted to make sure we scored a goal and stayed in the game." "You get one or two of these games a season"? We get one or two games like this a month. Wullie
The absolute fucking refusal to acknowledge anything was wrong is driving me insane. Treating this as anything other than to form...is driving me insane. It's as if the managers have it written in their contracts: "LIE THROUGH YOU BACK TEETH". Our managers do. mozy
Sacking him won't change anything. The squad is spineless. Once we go a goal down, we get blown over and it's been that way for 4/5 years.

colinmk
Think it's pretty much impossible to have a good manager under Ashley. Any that we have had, KK and Hughton, were used then hounded out as soon as possible before they could get anywhere.
