Who will emerge the winner, and the loser, in the long term 2nd tier tug of war?

Recommended Posts

Matter of opinions of course. But what do you think?

Fans of Everton, Aston Villa, Man City, Blackburn, Portsmouth all think they have the right manager in charge and their futures are bright. All these clubs have some money to spend, except Blackburn and Everton. But then Mark Hughes and David Moyes have been in their positions for a number of years so they have the time advantage.

In football there bound to be winners and losers. Who will eventually rise to the top, and who will be found out eventually?

2 votes allowed. Please vote one for winner, one for loser.

No doubt at the end of the day the voting will be unbalanced.

It is too hard to predict for, and hence I refrain from voting.

Though I think the combination of Porstmouth and Redknapp will not achieve anything significant in the long term.

How do you judge it? First and last to get sacked?

I think Redknapp will stay at Portsmouth until the end of his career but i think Sven will be the one to bring the most success to their respective club.

Whoever finishes fourth this year has a really rosy future. The Champions League means almost everything.

Liverpool?

They've dropped into the pot of teams challenging for it, same number of points now. Unless they pick up soon they've no more chance than any of the others. Well and truly up for grabs now.

There's only one winner there, Sven. None of the rest will lose as they will float up and down midtable and be hailed as great managers purely because they're British.

I don't think Villa will finish in the CL places this year (oddly, in a way I hope we don't, we're not ready), but of late I have been increasingly convinced that we will finish above Manchester City this season. I know that's short term, but hey ho. Everton worry me more.

They'll outlast the others going for 4th, i reckon, unfortunately.

Shoudl be US, thoughm, if you go back to some of the scandalously stupid comments from posters here pre season.

People are going overboard about Sven and Man City, been saying that for a while now

good track record, lots of money to spend, playing good football, you can see why

Haven't City been averaging about one shot on goal per game for a month or so now? (that's an exaggeration, obviously).

I think Sven is a fantastic manager, and will do well there, but their position at times has been a little bit flattering.

Have kind of kept away from watching football all weekend.... what were they like at your place ?

Not very good, but that's not what I'm basing it on.

They remind  me of our team when we finished 4th- getting a large slice of luck in that they nick a lot of their wins by 1 goal and are not actually as good as their position suggests. I think they will end up finishing about 7th and will need to invest again in the summer to maintain that kind of position. Up front in particular needs some serious cash.

With all respect, they have a more talented squad than you had when you came 4th.
