Alvaro - fraudulent bid by third party, Newcastle never interested.

Everyone has a mate who follows La Liga closely, and says he is the answer to Titus Bramble. I feel left out.

I just watch the big games from La Liga but I know a defender from the bottom club may not be the answer.

I wonder if there is mid table club in spain being linked with signing Darren Moore or Andy Todd & there fans are buzzing off it.

In fairness Spence, I haven't seen anyone "buzzing" in here, and I've been in this thread about 30 times.

He's going to need a gigantic pair of cojones to succeed if he comes here like.

Not ability on the field, not communication skills, just pure and simple cojones. Like grapefruits.

I imagine that would make it difficult to run, though.

Linford Christie managed ok.

As did Kris Akabusi, with those giant grapefruits of his, as this story testifies.

Akabusi scaled the walls of the £756,000 Sussex mansion with all the stealth of a gekko on a Mallorcan shower wall. As luck would have it the window was open. He dropped in and slipped out of his dungerees and let the cool air caress his polished ebony skin.

The house was quiet. He looked into one room and saw the sleeping Peter Andre - without the wig and wax on his face he was rather beautiful. But Akabusi wasn't into arses. Not today. He heard a noise coming from the bathroom. He ran along the landing, his giant cock swinging in the air like Saddam on Youtube.

He looked into the bathroom and saw a mad little f**ker, big as a barrel and blind as a bat leaping up and down in some boiling water. "Akabusi!" said a voice behind him. "Stop looking at my son with your cock out". Akabusi slowly turned around and saw Katie Price in front of him - wearing nothing but a Juicy Couture camisole and the slightest glistening of her ample clunge.

As ever Akabusi's cock became harder than the Guardian cryptic and proceeded to bang her tits off as Harvey ate a bag of Prawn Cocktail crisps from the floor that Akabusi had brought just in case. Before Akabusi left he wiped his now dying cock on Harvey's afro, bent down to the prone Jordan, who lay liked a painter's radio in the moonlight, and whispered "Awooga" in her ear and patted her on the fanny. The End

Any fucking excuse for an Akabusi story

But of course.

2m euros for a defender nobody else seems to want

You mean posters on a message board?

its hardly a genius coup?

Based on what? Can't exactly remember teams knocking on the door to sign N'Zogbia or Beye.

Smacks of another mediocre purchase to fill numbers rather than a real tactical purchase.

Yup, bring a defender in to shore up our leaky defence. What is Keegan thinking?

Given our track record on cheapish defendersn forgive me for being sceptical.

Albert? Faye? Beye? Helder? Bernard?

Oh and I thought we were now going for top quality that could slot straight into the prem or players that had prem experience?

Terry? Vidic? Gallas?

I can't help but get the impression this signing resembles me going round Tesco doing the shopping when half-pissed.  I see a shower radio for a tenner.  I don't really want it, I don't really need it, I could use the money for something else.

But fuck it, I'll have it for the craic.

You know what I mean though. Lets not build this chap up or make a stance for him because at the moment for me this would be shit sigining. A centre back from a team bottom of the league does not seem good at all.  Of couse if he does sign I want & will be willing him to be the best centre half in the world.

Exactamundo.

If he comes all we can do is support him and hope for the best.

You're right when you say it's not exactly an inspiring signing getting a centre-half from the team who has conceded the most goals in La Liga this season, though.

of all the skilful attacking Brazilians out there we have to sign we go for a defender  :-[

btw, Brum also after him

"It's incredible - on the same day two English clubs are fighting over me," Alvaro is quoted as saying in The Mirror

"Levante have the final say but going to Newcastle is perfect.

"To play in the Premier League will be sensational."

"I know that they are not doing well in the table but, in both the last two years, I have been fighting with Levante to stay up so I am used to battling."

Hmmmmm sounds top drawer to me!

it maybe explains everything

We are essentially doing a Spurs now.

Look slike we are going to be bringing in younger players from now on who if sold in the future will always turn a profit.

I don't think we will be spending big on older more experienced players, unless they are big time talents, who are certain to excel in the premier league.

So if we do decide to get in older, experienced players for the team, it will be guys who we can get for cheaper sums i.e. Alvaro. This si similar to what Spurs are doing with Gilberto from Hertha Berlin, or what they did with the portuguese defender they broguht in last season ... I forget his name ...

Find it amazing with all that money and hype surrounding the arrival of Keegan, this is all we can come up with in the transfer market!

Maybe that's why Ashley's brought Wise in because he knows Mort's shite at negotiations.

You're right  :undecided:, we should have gone out and splashed millions at Tottenhams door for Berbatov, then we should have headed up the country to Man Utd and whacked £20m in their hands for Carrick, then maybe given Woodgate an extra 10.000 a week to sign.

FFS

No-one else in the league has bought anyone (apart from Anelka) that I would have particularly wanted. You know why....... because they're not for sale. Simple.

Anyone is at the right price!

I agree we shouldn't be held to ransom just because it's Jan but fooking hell there must be better targets than this!

i dont think this is true anymore, clubs dont really need the money more than they do great players,  of corse there are clubs in money trouble but they usually dont have great players, offer spurs 30million for berbatov and they dont really need to take it if they want him there and he is happy there.

Actually my Brazilian mate tells me that they're having a bit of an attacker crisis at the moment. Shortage of decent players. They're much stronger in defence than attack.
