simonlemagnifique
Boca juniors in Buenos Aires, intimidating atmosphere inside, dead steep stands (it's called la bonbonera (the chocolate box) due to its steepness), mega noisy then you get out and get mugged by the locals. literally... brummie
English grounds in the 1980s were frequently scary. Ayresome Park I found particularly primitive and frightening on a few occasions.

bobbydazzla
Agree with Boca Juniors. In a very sketchy area of a fairly sketchy town, a stadium that is compact with proper steep stands. mental fans. although a lad I went to Boca with went to a Copa Libertadores (I think) game that Boca were playing in Bolivia and he reckoned it was far more radge than the Bombonera. Wullie
I was expecting Upton Park to be in quite a rough, built-up, intimidating area but with all the cafes, souvenir stalls and those castles on the front, it was more like a day at the zoo.
