If the right bid comes in then anyone in the City squad could go. Get the feeling that City are heading for a fall sooner rather than later. He needs to appoint a Peter Kenyon type person to run the footballing side of things because he's making a pigs ear of things atm.

ShearMagic
Manchester City have issued a statement denying the rumours: Quote Manchester City slam allegations regarding the Chairman 16/05/2008 11:55 The Club have taken the unusual step today to issue a statement regarding reports in some of this morning’s national newspapers. The stories suggested that our Chairman, Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, has put the entire first team squad up for sale and has written a critical letter to all the players regarding their performances this season. Dr Thaksin exclusively told mcfc.co.uk “There is absolutely no truth to this story or any of the allegations. I appreciate the progress and performance of the whole squad, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, this season.” Dr Thaksin also confirmed that other claims in the story of Deputy Chairman John Wardle apologising to players for selling the club were also without any foundation. Last night Dr Thaksin dined with Sven together with the City players and staff at sponsor Singha Beer’s dinner to promote the game with the Thai All Star team in Bangkok on Saturday Manchester City spokesman Paul Tyrrell said, “We are currently taking legal advice regarding these news reports and will pursue those who continue to run or repeat this false story and its allegations without the Chairman’s rebuttal.” Taken from www.mcfc.co.uk

afar
I can't believe so many were taken in by the story, considering the lack of trust most on this board have in the media. If a story on a similar vein was written about us (and lets face it we had harder time of things than ManShitty this season) it would have been immediately dismissed as bollocks, not a single quote in there. He might be a mad b****** and totally capable of doing this but this was always pure speculation from the hacks. Really the press is getting worse, having said that, there is most certainly something going on behind the scenes there, losing 8-1 to boro ffs, I know it was the last game of the season and neither team had much to play for but that was still and extraordinary result. I refuse to believe any chairman would be that stupid. Next season, they need to compliment players like Elano, Petrov, Richards with a few more good buys to steadily build. Thaksin probably has ambitions for top four, but it ain't gonna happen if every season they have a mass clearout.
ATB
Well. are you an idiot, then you are. Thaksin will never ever take a club to the top of the Premier League. Thaksin will never ever be able to run a new team and he will never ever be able to attrac big names (first a manager and then players that want to play in the club). Toon_Crazy
OK, we all knew it was rubbish. he probably it in a rage or something, totally taken out on context as per usual. Still, I reckon we could lure Dunne here and that would be a good acquisition so get moving. Not a bad defence if we got Shorey (as reported)... Shorey - Dunne - Taylor/Faye - Beye. Good defence - Big improvement. Keep Enrique, let Rozenhal go permantley, same for Diatta and Cacapa. Good business
Tooj
The defence doesn't need improving. [/T'Dave]
