NEWCASTLE United today confirmed that assistant manager Terry McDermott and reserve team coach Adam Sadler had left the club.

The pair had both worked closely with Kevin Keegan since he returned in January but will now seek pastures new.

McDermott was part of the KK revolution in 1992 when he helped save the club from oblivion as the Magpies escaped relegation to the old Third Division.

United of course then won the old First Division in style a year later and qualified for Europe in their first year in the Premier League before narrowly missing out on the title in 1996 under the guidance of McDermott and KK.

McDermott has also worked under Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Glenn Roeder and Sam Allardyce before being reunited with Keegan this year.

Former Manchester United youth team goalkeeper Sadler worked with the Toon Academy until 2006 before he was promoted to the first team coaching staff under Glenn Roeder.

Sadler - who guided the reserves to the Northumberland Senior Cup in May - was later appointed as reserve team coach when Lee Clark quit the club to join Norwich City in December 2007 but his short tenure was confirmed this morning.

The pair were told not to report to the training ground as usual and to make their way to St James’s Park where they were told about their futures.

Sounds like they were 'dismissed', aye.

aye, sounds like business a susual to me, also appears that they would have smeone in mind to take over the managers role, in that they didnt want these two.

or, the more likely is they want all of keegans men away, fresh start and all that.

The much more likely reason tbh, especially given all the whispers surrounding this blame game that's going on.

Proof that the COCKEY BARRA BOYS are not moving is the new recruitment of Ray Gooding YES, THE RAY GOODING as some sort of 8-11 academy player recruitment gadgy.

The fact that he spoke to Dennis W**e then was offered the job speaks volumes.
