Tbh I think thats possible whilst still being a class act. It is the biggest club match in Europe after all. New Manchester United signing Michael Owen is still having half his wages paid by former club Newcastle United, according to north-east source The Sunday Sun. The English tabloid has revealed that the England international is owed £220,000 by the relegated Magpies. The former Liverpool striker cost the north east club £37 million in transfer funds and wages, and is entitled to have any shortfall in his wages at United made up for four weeks under severance rules. The 29-year-old has apparently taken a pay cut of £105,000 to £50,000 since moving to Old Trafford, and is entitled to have the shortfall made up for a month. Strikers Mark Viduka and Peter Lovenkrands, as well as Brazilian defender Cacapa are all due similar payments, meaning the club owes nearly £800,000 in 'golden farewell' payments. The Magpies were relegated at the end of last season, and are expected to release or sell many of their high earners in order to cut the wage bill. The club are currently in the midst of a takeover, with owner Mike Ashley desperate to sell the club. The club are yet to appoint a new manager, and it is thought that the new owners, when a takeover is complete, will appoint a new boss immediately to bring some form of stability to St. James' Park.
