Given Carroll's current form, if Man City or someone like what they see and come in with a £20m offer tomorrow, should we take it?

No.

No because we'd probably only be allowed to spend it on players who have a combined wage of what Carroll is already on.

Based on what City have paid for Barry, Milner, Lescott etc, I'd take 100mil.

I'd want at least £35m for Carroll off them cunts, considering some of the shite they've paid £20m+ for.

I wouldn't sell him for any money tbh. That's certainly not because I think he's that good, more that we wouldn't be able to replace him (for a variety of reasons).

And it would be a pathetic and unforgivable lack of ambition that as soon as we get ourselves a good young player we're selling him.

agreed plus there is no evidence the money received would go back out plus who'd we buy?

Fair points.

Ashley has always been open about his "everyone has a price tag" approach.

Can just imagine he's sitting at home watching Carroll's price slowly creep up with every pundit superlative.

I don't think Ashley would take £20m, for what it's worth. We tend to sell for a decent price.

If he keeps on getting better then he's going to be in demand sooner rather than later though. Every player at every club has got his price and if City or whoever start bidding for him eventually we'll accept and he'll go.

Don't want to sell him but this is the game.  :undecided:

Both wanted to piss off, anyway. Decent prices given the circumstances.

Sure, if 5 million over three years is the going rate for the then best keeper in the league.

Sure, if fixed means 'not fixed'.

I'm confused how you think he was second choice at the time? He was our first choice, he was their first choice and he was Irelands first choice.
