The best team in Serie A just played a scoreless draw with Inter. What is everyone so excited about  Inter were not good tonight, but there has been no advantage gained for either team. Both will need to score on the next matchday. When AC whipped Man U (you know actually scoring in the process) it didn't make Serie A better than Premiership, so I don't think this scoreless draw changes anything proves England's superiority. I do hope Man U and Barca are eliminated in this round though. Would be more interesting in my opinion at least.

Are you actually insane? How would that be more interesting? Surely a Barca vs Man United match would be what most football lovers would want to watch?

Doubt it. Last year I listened and followed the massive massive hype fest leading up to this same fixture. The best match of the season and all that. Yet, unsurprisingly, it was nothing like that. One moment of class and nothing much else. What has happened that should change my opinion of this?

Because each match is different. Goes without saying really. That and both teams are better this year. Last years fixture wasn't the best match of the season, but it was a fucking good match.

It really wasn't.Infact, I would say Liverpool-Chelsea was better. As blasphemous as that is, it's true, imo.

f***ing hell, host on ITV just said Ronaldo's crown as free-kick master is threatened by Juninho. Clueless bastards.

In a nutshell

That Juninho free-kick was absolutely unreal. One of the best i've ever seen, if not the best. The technique. :nope: The view from Juninho's perspective you can really see the whip on the ball. In slow-mo you can criticise the keeper, who probably should have done better, but he won't have anticipated the bend like that. Awesome goal.

Do you get ESPN 360 in Europe? You can watch every full CL match on there. Actually no, obviously you can't, as ESPN does not own rights to the CL in your region. So I guess this has been of no help to you at all. But still, if your ever in the US, ESPN 360 is absolutely fanastic and absolutely free.

ITV are crap. Robbie Earle tried to justify Ferdinand's pull on Adriano as 'clever defending'. :(  Another good shout for a pen, IMO.

"Rio just feels him and the big guy goes down"  :kinnear:

He's as good as anyone bar Juninho.  Very few players, even the "free kick specialists" score that many a season, Ronaldo got five last year, and three so far this season, that’s up there with Beckham of old, Del Piero, Ronaldinho et al.  He just has a bad reputation because when they're shit they're really shit and he tends to shoot from anywhere.  Hit the post today though, that would have been a brilliant goal.

Juninho is something else though.  He doesn't score vastly more than the others, but enough to make him indisputably the best.  That and he scores by far the most ridiculously brilliant ones.  Like against Bayern a few years back (find a video of this if you can, its stunning.)  Oh and he has a tendency to score them on big occasions (relatively) consistently, which is unlike anyone else.  He's been my favourite player outside of England for years.

Just a final thought, Owen Hargreaves is probably the most underrated set piece "specialist" around.  He hardly gets to take any, but they're almost always on target and the one he scored against Arsenal last year is easily amongst the top five Ive ever seen.

That 37 metres one is incredible. The ball isnt even spinning for a start, and moves about 2 metres at the last minute.

I didn't see the game, but Madrid Porto ending 2-2 tonight I'd expect goes to show you don't necessarily have to have the biggest clubs to have the best games, quite often it's to the contrary.

Porto would've won had their keeper not forgotten to put his hands on for one of Atleticos goals

Read above post. I'm in America and they use this term a lot. I thought they said it in England, too, sorry.

I've heard it used loads of times too.

Just obviously looked dodgy in the same sentence as Robbie Earl!  :pow:
