sempuki
Article on Stuart Findlay in today's Daily Record. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/never-chance-celtic-wont-say-8435412#tmXg35OdvXS1ed8C.97 "When I knew Newcastle were in for me, I didn’t care about money or moving away from home – none of that mattered. “All I could think about was the fact that Rafa Benitez had actually sanctioned the deal for me. To hear that, it gave me an outrageous amount of confidence. Because of that I’ve arrived here with a real spring in my step." Comes across really well. joeyt
Having made one appearance for Newcastle's U21 side in pre-season, former Plymouth Argyle midfielder Tyler Harvey has now turned on trial at the mackems. That follows a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe United and a 0-1 defeat by Sheffield Wednesday in recent days. Various trialists have featured in those game for United, including 16 year-old striker Elias Fritjof Sørensen - a Danish youth international striker who recently debuted at senior level for his second tier club, HB Koge. Newcastle Fan
#NUFC Under-21s team to face @PSV: Harker; Mbabu, Findlay, Gillesphey, Cameron; Bigirimana, Barlaser; Gilliead, Vuckic, Roberts; Toney. Quite a strong team leading PSV 1-0 right now at the Steel Cup final, goal by Kyle Cameron.

Ryan
Hope to see that El-Mhanni get a chance in the first team this season just because he's so interesting to watch. Some of his dribbling and footwork in the Darlington game was sensational.

gdm
Turned down invitation to the FL trophy Newcastle United can confirm it has declined an invitation to take part in the 2016/17 EFL Trophy. The Club was initially informed by the Premier League that it was not going to be invited to compete in the restructured competition. Accordingly, the Club started to make plans with regard to the development squad for the coming season. These plans included the intention to loan out some of the players who are currently part of the under-23 squad, rather than allowing them to compete in the Premier League 2. Changes to the loan system, which come into effect this season, mean all loans must now be completed on a window-to-window basis, with emergency and youth loans no longer permissible. These regulations are a contributory factor to the Club’s decision. Though Newcastle United did subsequently receive an invite to compete in the EFL Trophy, the Club feels their younger players would be better served by going out on loan and gaining experience over an extended period in a first team environment. Although Newcastle United supports the principle of the competition’s new format, participating in the EFL Trophy is not something the Club wishes to do this season. Stifler
There was me thinking they turned it down because it's just wrong to enter academy teams.
