Disco Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 It is because of what happened at the match at Hull in January when he pulled the banner out at half-time and after the game. A lad took exception to it and a few words and punches were exchanged at the end of the game. Having witnessed it at close quarters, I would have been shocked if he had been sent to prison as a post above suggested he was lucky not to have been (unless something else happened that I am not aware of). I am guessing that people are trying to put across that he isnt a stereotypical football hooligan looking for trouble at every opportunity. I dont know the fella or exactly what actually happened but I am guessing he just snapped in what was a very emotional environment involving something he cares deeply about. From my experience of Keith back then, he's a top fella. Has probably been harshly (but rightly so) punished for a moment of madness. The whole concept of banning orders is immoral for me - you should be punished for a crime as anyone else but when that punishement is over - either a fine paid or a sentence served then restricting peoples lives for a period afterwards is wrong.
