TheGuv
Cannot believe it was 5 years today since his testimonial. I still think he has unfinished business here and I wish he'd start managing somewhere else to prove to people if he's capable

Decky
Was more about the atmosphere and buzz around Newcastle at the time. Regardless of the quality on the pitch, it was a very special night for Newcastle fans. We'll be lucky if we see the like of it again.

M4
Still a shame they didn't put on a game with ex England or Blackburn teammates instead of bloody Celtic. Thought it would be a bit of a let down, but agreed the post match atmosphere was amazing.

JH
"Referee says penalty. And you know who's going to take it? Well it may be orchestrated but the situation demands it. And well done to Celtic for playing along. The last entry of the gladiator. He spent this afternoon at the training ground practicing penalties. On goes the captain's armband. And Shearer, who has rescued Newcastle so many times before, has the chance to do so again - for the very last time, SAME OLD SHEARER. ALWAYS SCORING. And the curtain comes down so fittingly with a winning goal in front of his beloved Gallowgate.

Superior Acuña
The match was an aside. Great night, and found it more emotional than I anticipated. Great to see Ferdinand, Watson, Speed, Luque. (though also thought shit that it was v Celtic). In a way shame he couldnt play, but glad he was injured when he was, as that mackem match couldnt have been a more perfect last game, and him coming off the bench in the testimonial was also a special moment. Shearer!
oscar
The search function on here is shite. Anyway, someone was asking the other day if shearer and Owen were still mates after the way things finished with them both here. Well the pair of them were both shown on channel 4 at York races, not together though.
