Whats this Vialli as DOF rumour? anyone heard same?

Aye heard it alright. Sounds ridiculous.

Apparently it goes:

"The new owners are based in Hong Kong, not Malaysia. The sale will be

announced tomorrow and Gianluca Vialli will be appointed Director of

Football. Shearer is expected to be named manager. There will be £30

million made available for transfers.

Ashley is selling for £85 million up front with £100 million to be

paid in the future in repayment of the loan. Barclays are owed £40

million which has to be paid within two years.

Our first signing will be Jermaine Beckford from Leeds - the deal is

ready for signing as soon as the sale is completed.

Harper is to be made club captain and there are several offers on the

table for our players including Martins, Gutierrez, Coloccini and Smith.

Source is a mate that works in NUFC's legal department."

And in little white text at the bottom it says "I made the whole thing up"

He arrived he didnt fancy it, so he has now decided to release a sttement saying he was never interested

I don't think there are any Malaysians.

I think the Shepherds are the only serious bidders and Ashley has arranged for Llambias to buzz the training ground in a chopper with an Asian gadgy in tow to make it look like there is another bidder to up the ante on Shepherd.

I think these two posts are the most depressing so far.

It was claimed all along it was a Malaysian consortium, so if we are believing that, what difference does this individual ruling himself out make?

Ah, to be fair, I prefer a consortium including a £7 billion dollar chappy with cheeky chops than one without.

The inside track is that it was a bunch of Indonesians all along. No wonder it's taking so long. JAM KARET ftw!!!!

I think all there is to go on is a group of oriental-looking businessmen being spotted at the club twice. Even the 'Malaysian' bit is supposition, isn't it?

Their nationality must have been leaked in the first place, so I reckon it's probably right.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/07/08/toon-talks-with-malaysian-consortium-continue-72703-24109256/

TALKS with the Malaysian consortium who are interested in taking over Newcastle United were understood to be "ongoing" tonight as Mike Ashley's long drawn out process of selling the Magpies dragged on for Toon fans.

However, it has emerged that billionaire Ananda Krishnan is not part of the group who have now visited Tyneside twice in the past week.

Indeed Malaysian National News agency Bernama carried a statement from his company Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd ruling him out of the chase.

The statement said: "News reports were carried on July 5 and July 6 in various newspapers in Malaysia and Singapore that Mr Ananda Krishnan or companies owned by Mr Krishnan had expressed an interest in purchasing Newcastle United Football Club and that his representatives had been engaged in talks to explore or even conclude such a deal.

"There is in fact no truth or foundation to this story.

"Mr Krishnan has not expressed an interest in purchasing Newcastle United Football Club, has not sent any delegation to Newcastle to engage in such talks or authorised any representatives to negotiate on his behalf and is not considering any such purchase,"
