Joey Barton (now retired)

Recommended Posts

It was a 50/50, not even a tackle. His momentum took him into Diaby.

so was de jongs on ben arfa then.

Ben Arfa had the ball.

de jong got the ball and his momentum took him into ben arfa.

Eh? Ben Arfa had the ball and De Jong tackled him.

Nobody had the ball today.

had the ball ? what are you on about ? when the tackle comes in they are both together. in both occasions the ball was there to be played but the player went in knowing his momentum was likely to cause damage. look at where bartons knees are in the still pposted earler man.

One is 50 /50 . One isn't Its not that difficult is it?

that cghanges nothing.

Evidently. Like, I say. If it makes you feel better then fine. Maybe you should have tried playing football as a kid.  Would have helped you understand it.

I thought the tackle was just the right side of okay. His foot was on the ground, he won the ball and it was just a natural follow through that caught the player. It was forceful all right, but it was a 50-50 ball between players facing one another from five yards apart. Those situations are always a bit dodgy.

Gotta say he done well today and kept his compusure. Couple of years ago would have been planning to ambush Diaby with a golf club. He's really matured.

thats nolan's job. after being pushed in the back he did gesture "outside later" type of thing.

It was a great tackle from Barton, even better composure when Diaby was grabbing his neck and throwing him to the ground.

Well done Joey.

Sensational, is fast becoming the heart and soul of this team. Was so chuffed when he stayed on the ground and didn't retalitate. Vital for us and a must to get the contract sorted asap.

PS: the kid in your sig is a very good player by all accounts. I know a couple of lads who play with him in U15s and they talk very highly of him

Yeah, apparently got a big future ahead of him, might get his chance sooner than he thinks if our striker injuries keep mounting up.

Finger crossed he keeps his head down, works hard and comes along like those who know think he will. Ugly fuker mind.
