If the referee had seen it he'd have been sent off (and Coloccini was very lucky to stay on as well after raising his hands btw), it's as simple as that. On Five Live just now they said that the FA are going to show the referee the video and see what action he would have taken if he saw it. It can't be anything other than a straight red card for violent conduct, which carries a three-match ban. Whatever you think of Pedersen as a player or person, to suggest he's in any way to blame for this is farcical. To the letter of the law, you're probably correct. A bit like if a bloke murdered someone he caught shagging his missus, technically it's no defence. Barton was undoubtedly to blame, but it's pretty clear that Pedersen went out of his way to provoke the incident and then make the biggest deal possible out of it, like the sneaky little shit he is. He will be gutted he has done it but should benefit from a rest and come back raring to go. Routledge should seize his chance because he looked good for us and was axed quite quickly after a couple of wayward games. They're always pretty out in the open and straightforward, unlike many in the game who's crimes are conducted in a sly cheating manner while always making a meal of anything directed back at them.
