FC Anzhi Makhachkala got bought buy a big Russian Bilionaire, Kerimov who is currently listed as number 136 on Forbes' list of The World’s Billionaires, with a reported net worth of $5.5 billion..

I doubt he knows Dagestan aint the safest of places  ;D

Gullit in Chechnya,Roberto Carlos in Dagestan

It has to be safer for him than continuing to play at Corinthians

You need replays though, as it's gives team a chance to get teams back on there own patch if they draw them away.  Fact is, their isn't much wrong with the cup imo the way it is now.

At the end of the day with the FA involved, its guaranteed to be awful decision whatever the do. Imcompetent fucks.

Scrap replays, have premier league teams seeded in the 3rd round but have them all play away meaning 20 big games for 20 lucky teams.

Look at the fixture list, I've noticed that after Birmingham we only play 3 games until the start of April.  That's 3 games in 6 1/2 weeks.  It's perfect for us as two of our better players have long term injuries.  Ben Arfa may only miss four more games and be fit for Wolves on 2nd April, hopefully anyway.

You're right, the only thing wrong with the cup is that people don't take it seriously any more. Probably because the bottom teams have to avoid relegation and the top teams have to qualify for the CL. That's all they care about.

Unless we can address that then the FA Cup will get more and more meaningless until it is killed completely. That's not far away from happening IMO.

Completely agree.  I still love the FA cup and it should mean a lot to NUFC fans as we are still one of best teams in the history of it.

The champions league with the fact the top 4 teams qualify for it in the league means they are more concerned about that the FA cup.

Not really true as Chelsea have won it 3 times out the last 4 & the team that got beat by Barnsley in what can be classed as there gap year was a decent side: Cudicini 6; Belletti 6 (Pizarro 5), Carvalho 7, Terry 6, Bridge 7; Wright-Phillips 4, Essien 3, Ballack 6, Malouda 5 (Kalou 5); J Cole 7, Anelka 7.

Man Utd

2009/10: Got beat by Leeds 1-0 @ OT but they had a good side out:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/8433901.stm

2008/09: They lost on pens in the semi.

2007/08: Lost to the cup winners but played a big part in making it easier for Pompey to win it by beating Villa, Spurs & Arsenal before getting knocked out.

2006/07: Lost in the final

The bigger problem is the bottom half  PL clubs are all consumed with staying in the PL.

Crawley Town fan arrested for mocking Munich air disaster in FA Cup song video

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a fan of non-league Crawley Town FC apparently mocked the Munich air disaster in a video for their official FA Cup song.

The teenager, from Crawley, West Sussex, was held under the Public Order Act last night on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm or distress.

The arrest followed complaints by Manchester United fans about the reworking of The Specials' Hit A Message To You, Rudy, adapted by musician Mike Dobie with the new title A Message to You, Rooney.

Crawley Town posted the video on its official website and YouTube to mark their clash with United at Old Trafford in Saturday's fifth round tie of the FA Cup.

But officials at the West Sussex club failed to realise that one of the people dancing by the stage makes frequent apparent aircraft mocking gestures about the Munich tragedy.

The man also holds up his fingers up to count one, then nine, then five and eight to symbolise 1958, the year when 23 people died when the plane carrying United's team crashed on its way back from a European Cup tie against Red Star Belgrade.

A Sussex Police spokesman said today that the teenager arrested has been released on police bail until February 25 pending further inquiries.

He said: "A 19-year-old man was last night arrested by police in Crawley following a complaint about the content of a music video produced to support Crawley Town Football Club in its FA Cup run."

As part of his bail conditions, the man has been banned from travelling to Manchester for the FA Cup tie, the police spokesman added.

Crawley chief executive Alan Williams told the Guardian newspaper before the arrest that the man had been identified and banned for life.

He said: "This should be an unbelievable week for us and if anyone thinks Crawley would deliberately insult Manchester United over something so sensitive, that is what gets to me more than anything."

The club have since replaced the video on its website with a version that does not include the Munich jibes.
