Nobody
Bonus points awarded for teams who score more than four goals in a game. Defensive teams will rightly get fuck all for boring the shit out of everyone while attacking teams will get rewarded for entertaining us. Could have some legs this - too often do teams go 2 or 3 goals up with a good chunk of the game to go, and just sit on that and slip back into 2nd gear. Getting your money's worth and all that jazz. That said the team in front would argue they can do what they want with that lead and if they think the opposition has goals in them, playing more conservatively would suit them better. Put yourself in the 2-0 situation - if you're 2-0 up, and you're playing a pretty decent side who score regularly, what do you do? Need to recognise the defensive element of the game as well, I guess. In conclusion, I don't know. In conclusion, look at Keefaz's post, it will make everything very clear. I'd get rid of the away goal rule.

steve_69
Why should good defensive teams be penalised? It's just as much part of the game. Cack idea, tbh. Because defensive football is total shit! It's a fucking brilliant idea, you're just mental.

steve_69
Jesus wept. Teams would still get 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss but the bonus point would just encourage teams to be more entertaining. I'm not suggesting this is ever likely to happen but personally i'd like to see a few more hell-for-leather football games with teams trying to score loads of goals. Village Idiot
Bonus points awarded for teams who score more than four goals in a game. Need to recognise the defensive element of the game as well, I guess. In conclusion, I don't know. The old yank footie league (NASL) had some ludicrous rules like this. I think a team could get upwards to 9 points from a game depending on how much they scored. Personally, I have nothing against hard-fought 1-0 or similar results, and a good defensive performance against a big team should reap the similar reward as getting five past some shit opposition. I'm fine with the current point system.

Not in the slightest, I genuinely believe this is the best idea since internet porn. In fact, inbetween posting more genius musings on here i'm actually writing a letter to FIFA to suggest that they implement my system with immediate effect. If goals is the only entertaining part you can see in football, maybe you should try another sport? I hear they score loads of points in basketball. ikri
A few things - Scrap the current Champion's League setup, the only qualifiers should be the league champions & the holders only. No more 4th placed teams qualifying unless they won the competition in the previous season. Bring back the Cup Winner's Cup and change the UEFA cup back to a straight knockout system, no more league crap designed purely to extend the number of games that can be shown on TV. Cap wages at a percentage of turnover, pay Ronaldo £1m per week if you want but if you've only got a budget of £1.5m per week for the whole club you'll have to pay everyone else out of the £0.5m that's left. Added to this, add some severe points penalties for clubs trying to mess with the turnover by selling multi-million £ season tickets, etc. Far stricter punishments for cheats, if Gerrard wants to dive to win that last minute penalty then let him, but make sure that he's banned for the next 5 games as a result. Doug
Bring back terracing to parts of each ground if the fans want it. Dont send a keeper off when a forward falls over him when going for a fifty fifty, penalty is enough punishment, ruins the game.
Elbel1
Instead of penalty shootouts how about players being given the ball 30 yards from goal with just the keeper to beat That way a bit of skill is required Also refs should be issued with pepper spray That would stop any dissent in it's tracks

Dont send a keeper off when a forward falls over him when going for a fifty fifty, penalty is enough punishment, ruins the game. Definitely agree with your second point. If the foul warrants a straight red, then of course it should be received, but if it's only a bad tackle to stop a goal scoring opportunity, a yellow, or maybe no card at all, is enough. If it's outside the penalty area it should be a free kick and a red card though.

hakka
Don't know if it's been mentioned, but I would change it so teams who fall out of champions league can't go in the Europa League. Think it's a disagrace that failure is rewarded with a second chance in another competition.

Agree with what your saying, but I think it's really unfair on the teams who have worked hard to get through the competition only to be trounced by a big team that fucked up in the Champions League. Just seems really unfair.
Ketsbaia
teams should be allowed a 4th substitution if it goes to extra time the restrictions on goal celebrations must go restrict champions league to top 2 only get rid of away goals get rid of 2 legged carling cup semi-finals (possibly fa cup replays too) stop fa cup semi-finals being played at wembley unless its a 2nd booking or a diabolical tackle, don't give the red card AS WELL AS the penalty then theres the obvious ones such as technology (goal line only), homegrown rules, capping a club's wages/spending etc. theres so many more i'd change... Village Idiot
I agree on limiting sending off players when a penalty is involved. A penalty is usually a good enough punishment, and getting a goal down and losing a player in the same play just kills a game.
Guest Antec
All cup competitons to be knock-out only, no seeding bollocks, if Barcelona draw Real Madrid in the 1st round then tough shit A club can loan out a maximum of 3 players per season, put an end to the joke clubs bringing in stacks of youngsters and loaning 20 of them out. Ridiculous No loans between clubs playing in the same division, always found this to be wrong
