Dave
Is it really too much to expect that because there is a match on tomorrow and snow is falling/has been forecast, the surrounding areas will be fully gritted to ensure the game goes ahead? It's not exactly rocket science.

Yorkie
Aye apparantely the heavy snow's meant to hit my neck of the woods this evening. However with temperatures being as low as they are it's gonna be icy. Doesn't help with it being an earlier kick off i don't suppose, either - less time to thaw? *crosses fingers*
maybe_next_year
if it wasnt for the fact its on tv i would say it would be cancelled, but i think they'll let it go ahead just because of the hassle with it being on tv

Jill
Very light snow in town at the minute, didn't go up by the ground but around the Gate/Co-op there was plenty of grit and it wasn't dangerous to walk or anything.
Mick
Is it really too much to expect that because there is a match on tomorrow and snow is falling/has been forecast, the surrounding areas will be fully gritted to ensure the game goes ahead? It's not exactly rocket science. The last problem we had was against Charlton and the snow came very close to kick off and they couldn't get the roads and paths gritted in time. They said that the amount of slow moving traffic meant they couldn't physically get around the roads in time. I can't see that being a problem this time so the game is almost certain to go ahead. Keep keeping that snow away I should put a bet on the match being called off. Given my recent gambling attempts, that would guarantee it would be played. JH
They've got 18 hours until the game. If they pull their fingers out and fully grit the area, I don't see what the problem will be.

pedro111
Lads, less of this 'really really heavy snow' bollocks. When it gets to over a foot of snow then you can say that! Youd be lucky if there is 2 inches on the ground!

mattypnufc
Newcastle City Council want fucking shot if this is called off tomorrow like. Plenty of time to get the gritters out and sort everything out...especially in a city the size of Newcastle. Game on I say!
QBG
Snowed earlier here in Yorkshire, has stopped now. If its stopped in Newcastle I reckon it'll be on, fucking better be as I'm getting up at half 7 to be in Newcastle for 11.
