David28
Can't believe that that guy was our captain not too long ago and even was my favourite player that time. Disgusting.

wormy
Genuinely. Seeing that picture of him in a Toon shirt, with the captain's armband, with 'The Icon' beside it, honestly makes me feel sick. What an absolute piss stain.
Guest NufcBano
Cant decide whether I despise @themichaelowen, or just pity his delusion. "I've trained at a high level for 3 years?" Wow, someone give him a medal. Why is it footballers train again? It's something to do with then going onto be able to play isn't it? Something like that. "I joined Man Utd to train with top players and at a high level" Why didnt you join a team to PLAY at a high level? You delusional pr*ck. 3 years of your short career have been flushed down the toilet. Do non of his mates tell him these things? Does he hire yes men to play golf with him? "I dont see why I should drop down to the championship, whenever I have played for United I have scored everytime". Oh dear, where to begin. a) You didn't score everytime you played, b) When you did score, it was mainly against lower league opponents, c) You dont deserve to play at a high level, because basically, you haven't been PLAYING at the highest level for 3 f*cking years. The arrogance and delusion of this man is incredible. The fact he snapped up the most famous shirt in Manchester Utd history when he joined, even though he was what? 5th choice striker? Just shows how much of an absolute c*nt he is. I've decided. I despise him. Good luck finding yourself a physio who works at the highest level in taking you on. David28
Michael Owen not retiring despite Manchester United release Michael Owen says he does not plan to retire, despite Manchester United confirming the striker would not be offered a new contract at Old Trafford. The 32-year-old said he would "contemplate his next move" during a short holiday, but was not ready to give up his top-flight playing career. "The Championship is not an option," he said. "I'd like to think I haven't lost the ability to score goals at the highest level. "I may look further afield." And, speaking to Sky Sports News, the former England striker added: "I still feel good and, even though I've had a few injuries, I don't wake up with sore joints." The ex-Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle striker was told of United's decision not to renew his contract following his appearance in a testimonial for former Reds goalkeeper Harry Gregg in Belfast on Tuesday. "I have loved every minute I have spent at such a fantastic club," said Owen on Twitter. Continue reading the main story His time at Old Trafford was blighted by injuries and he managed just four league and cup appearances this season with his final one coming in United's 2-0 win over Otelul Galati during the Champions League group stages in November, when he sustained a thigh injury. Owen's most memorable goal for Manchester United came at Old Trafford back in September 2009. The striker came off the bench to score a dramatic injury-time winner against Manchester City and win the derby 4-3, with the match since being voted the best in Premier League history. He scored another vital goal in the League Cup final against Aston Villa back in 2010, however his celebrations were again cut short by injury and he was replaced shortly after. Owen's last appearance for England was against France in 2008, but his goal record at international level is outstanding. The striker scored 40 goals in 89 appearances for his country and BBC Sport's Gary Lineker, who scored 48 goals for England, tweeted : "A world-class goalscorer who, but for injury, would have broken many records." Owen started his career as a teenager at Liverpool, before making the move to Spain to play for Real Madrid in 2004. Having spent just one season in La Liga, the striker moved back to the Premier League where he joined Newcastle United, scoring 30 goals in 74 appearances. Always an admirer of the prolific striker, Sir Alex Ferguson took a risk in signing him for Manchester United on a free transfer in 2009. The Scot said: "It is a pleasure to have had Michael at Manchester United. "Michael is a consummate professional and was an influential figure in our dressing room. Unfortunately he had no luck with his injury this season. "Michael's record of goals per game is exceptional and we wish him all the best for the future." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18101799
Fenham Mag
Would anyone have him back? The only way I would have him back is if we had 'fucking arsehole' week in the Darsely Park canteen.
Guest Phil K
Have him back ? He's injured two thirds of the time anyway. He can stay where he is, and still play as much as he would have if he signed. Great striker as he may be, he's screwed his own rep thoroughly.

STM
Oh he will get a club but i can't see him going as far as London or back to the North East. That leaves the North West or Villa. Villa have fuck all money and are managerless. Who else would he play for, Liverpool? (they are delusional enough), Everton? (Moyes might want him but they are skint too). Liverpool are the only club i realistically see him moving to, unless he wants to travel far to shag his horses every week. Outside bet would be Spurs or West Ham if they get promoted.
