Dave
Some people rate Williamson over Taylor and vice versa. The key question is of the defence as a whole. After two good clean sheets away from home, why change it?

joeyt
Williamson wins quite a few balls from attacking set pieces, so it's harsh to say that he's poor in the air
Yorkie
Some people rate Williamson over Taylor and vice versa. The key question is of the defence as a whole. After two good clean sheets away from home, why change it? Absolutely. You can argue about individuals all you like, especially when it comes to these two as there's hardly owt between them. What's true, though, is that Coloccini and Williamson is the best and fittest partnership - and shouldn't be changed for now. Taylor's injury record is bloody horrendous. Dokko
Some people rate Williamson over Taylor and vice versa. The key question is of the defence as a whole. After two good clean sheets away from home, why change it? Only a fool would change it, and I doubt Pardew will until the right time. The same when Taylor came back in to the team initially before picking up an injury, he was playing well, dropping him for Williamson would have been wrong. It's good we've actually got competition somewhere on the field, shame it's not like this all over.
JH
Showed today why he's a good Premier League defender. Was there to tidy up all of Taylor's errors, and helped to keep it at 2-1 when we were pushing forward for an equaliser. Really like this guy

Really like this guy Aye, seems to be getting better and better the more games he plays against top opposition too which can only be a good thing. I'd still be looking to replace him in the long run but he has far exceeded my expectations since we signed him. Comes across as not being a twat too which is always a plus. LRD
Did well this season, not just today. Having said that one priority in the summer is to bring in a fast and strong CH, mainly to partner Coloccini. If Coloccini is unavailable then Williamson can come in to play alongside the new signing cos I don't think a Williamson-Taylor partnership will work. Colocho
Happy to see him partner Colo next season?
ponsaelius
Happy to see him partner Colo next season? Not sure. I like him as a squad player, though.
AyeDubbleYoo
Happy to see him partner Colo next season? Yes, he hasn't done much wrong. If we sign a CB I would prefer it to be a "one for the future" type. Or give a chance to one of our youngsters.
mattypnufc
No nonsense defender. Compliments Colo's reading of the game with his 'put the fucker out' approach. My only concern is his pace and positioning is a little bit iffy. Definately one of the best low budget buy's we've made.
JH
Happy to see him partner Colo next season? Yes. Really simple but effective defender. Really like the partnership him and Colo have. Would be looking to improve on him in the long term, but for this summer the priority is fullback cover and the attack.
Skirge
Aye we need better cover but him & Colo are fine no need to split up that partnership.
Guest icemanblue
This is quite odd, but I really can't imagine him being your typical football Billy big bollocks. Looks like a decent, down to earth, kind of guy.

Looks like a decent, down to earth, kind of guy. He's played for Torquay United and Wycombe Wanderers in his career and had to work his way to where he's at now, would make sense if that had made him a more rounded person than the archetypal footballer who's spent their entire youth in the bubble of a big club's academy, with everybody telling them they're God's gift to humanity. Yorkie
If we've got ambitions of Europe, a centre-back as good and effective as Coloccini is just about an essential imo. Williamson's a decent player though. Same with the Jonas thing, imo. I like him too but a left-winger would be a priority for me where the £35m's concerned. Punk77
In his first games after replacing Taylor he was a bit rusty, but he's improved by each game. Especially against physical teams like Wolves it's important to have a cd that is strong in the air. Wolves kept on hitting long balls, but they did not lead to anything because Williamson won very duel.
Guest Stephen927
Got a lot to prove after what happened at Portsmouth, he's going a long way towards establishing himself as a decent Premiership defender. He knows his limitations, that's absolutely key for him. He is fairly average technically but makes up for it by adopting a no nonsense approach. Simple but effective for the vast majority of the time.
