Heron
"There was only one section singing Peter Lovenkrands name on Monday before and after he scored because the rest of the ground didn't know a song for him, yet he complimented our support. 90% of the time there is only one section of the ground singing (despite of what it might be) and that's Level 7." If that's not condescending then please tell me what is? Maybe its someone writing with the frustration of how one section of the ground sings through-out most of the game, backing the team, and the rest of the ground rarely choose to join in? Maybe as someone who is passionate about Nufc it is bloody annoying that a lot of the supporters are more interested in moaning & groaning at any mistake than encouraging & supporting? Its fair enough you get a condescending impression of that quote, but why pretend that what I've said isnt the case, because it is. And it is ironic that the 'get out of out club song', a song which has been accused of creating a negative atmosphere (which is fair enough if thats your opinion), comes from the only part of the ground that seems to offer susatined positive encouragement through-out the game - with a lot of other fans choosing to go "AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!" when a player isnt being closed down in our half. I never once said anything about the so-called negative atmosphere created from up there, more the fact that there seems to be a holier-than-thou attitude from a lot of folk up there because they sing "get out of our club" and "your support is f***ing s***" a few times during the match. That's just as condescending as what I said tbf. You mean the post that wasn't condescending? Aye, that's the one. xxx

Aye I know you wernt accusing that song of being negative. Thats fair enough, although I would say that if you hear a lot of people saying on here about how good it is at L7 etc than there might well be some frustration behind what they are saying because of what I've just said. cp40
tbf, the view is fking awsome from up there, but with my dodgy distance vision, and gimps bionic eye, we cant work the fuck out whats happening at the gallowgate end.

Guest Roger Kint
Have said it before but a lot of the time the L7 noise is almost drowned out by the away fans anyway when you sit at the back of the Gallowgate.

Pav
It's not "fair enough" to those clubs at all though. The 500 or so fans that travel up here for those clubs are more likely the ones that watched them struggle in the bottom-tier 10-15 years ago against the likes of Rochdale, Bury & Grimsby week in, week out. Right lads, next game in Level 7 I'll expect everyone to give a warm round of applause to the nice folk from London who've made the journey up. Let's make sure our southern counterparts are made welcome Get a fucking grip man. You think other teams give a fuck about us? No. We don't give a fuck about them. It's football for fucks sake. Whilst I can't stand your support is fucking shit I think you're missing a main point as to why people sing it. Some people who go to matches enjoy the banter with away fans. Most the chants are shit but it's just trying to get that reaction, it gets a good atmosphere going and has 2 sets of fans trying to outsing eachother. Now I know most people here would prefer to be sat in the east stand with their blanket & flask and fair enough. Some people go to the match to have a sing song and others go to watch the football. At the end of the day it shouldn't really matter, we all support Newcastle.

Dr Venkman
the majority of the noise does come from level 7, and thats a fact. i enjoy listening to them tbh, i like a good atmosphere and singing is obviously a part of it, having said that,i'm happy to admit i rarely join in. i'm more of a sit, watch, consider sort of fan. i'm usually too nervous to do anything else, i always clap and praise though if someone does well and i do my best to keep my negative comments to a minimum. Mistle17
Unfortuantely, I haven't been to an NUFC match for years ( ), so can someone tell me this; aparet from the East stand, do people mind you singing outside the Level 7 area? i.e The Gallowgate or Milburn? Some have smaller pockets of fans scattered around the ground standing, whilst White Hart Lane normally has beside the away fans and a bit on the far mainstand on their feet. Its normally the same in places like Old Trafford, Villa Park and Upton Park. There a few places that spring to mind. Despite SJP having a 'Singing section', there doesn't seem to be any other areas of the ground where people stand or sing loudly....which is a big shame. Maybe our home support gets more and more miserable every year?

Standing mainly occurs in 1 tier stands as the view isn't as good - you end up with a snowball effect of people standing to watch.
TheGuv
Fiest things first, the Blaydon races is sung FAR too quickly. It should be sang like 'You'll never walk alone' , and 'Bluye Moon' when everybody can sing it at a slow pace, so eventually everybody can join in. AND it is san wrong. Instead of away we went alang collingwood street that's on the road to blaydon, we seem to think the first verse ends in the way the chorus does Also the atmosphere is sh**. My dad used to play rugby at novos (in longbenton, next to the ministry) and he said when newcastle scored or were singing all the rugby players would say oh thats the third goal or thats the fourth etc. This was the entertainer days. Fair enough the bowl shape may have played a part, but still....
