Victor Moses joins Wigan Athletic

Recommended Posts

Can see this one going to deadline, Palace will no doubt wait until the last minute hoping one of the top flight panics and puts a silly bid in.

Possibly, or for every moment the creditors don't get paid the default payments increase, and were not talking £20 a day for being over drawn.

Aye good point, never looked at it that way.

Just depends on which they believe is worthwhile, but administrators do not like taking chances, for example not playing Moses in the first place.

I honestly thought they would, to try and advertise him and drum up interest, but it looks like they've got a couple of bites anyway. (but i reckon a good performance against us and a couple of prem teams might be willing to take a chance)

Is it palace or the administrators that will accept or reject any offers? do palace have any say now that they are in administration?

It aint upto the administrators,  they need to sell before monday,  Final decision rests with the player,  If say forest bid more money, but the player wants newcastle, then they cannot force him out , they would have to accept where the player wants to goto regardless of the money offered.

Really its in everyone's best interests to get this done asap. Moses won't want to be sat around not playing while teams are faffing on, the administrators are only interested in getting the best price for him as soon as possible and the teams who are interested in him will want it all tied up asap.

Utter bollocks tbh.

They'll try and force through the highest bidder and tell him he's not got much option. If another team wants to match the highest bid then they can talk to him, otherwise no chance. It's not like the lad is going to stay out of spite is it? Any of the 3 clubs at the top is a better option than where he's at right now.

Right, but Carroll was in that team. There's no way he'd fit into any team trying to play football.

Don't think England Under 21's are a long ball team and Carroll has fitted in well with them, been excellent, scored goals and had good reviews from the likes of Pearce.

but then you know best ;-)

He's got 2 goals for them, lets not pretend it means more than it does.

2 goals in 4 games at International level at U21 and 4 goals in 8 England Under 19 games.  A 1 in 2 ratio at International level means quite a bit actually.

Just going by what his agent said in the interview on SSN last night,  It aint upto the administrators,  They cannot force him to a club if he does not want to go,  He will go to the club which is best for him regardless, so if that means to a team that bid less money, there is not alot the administrators can do,  they have just a few days left to get him out the club.

i was wondering what would happen in that situation. say we bid 200k less but he wanted to come here. surely the administrators would have to give in or risk missing out on the sale altogether.

Am surprised no premiership clubs have bid for him already tbh.

Most of them are skint to be fair.

Was listening to the radio last night and the mackems thought they were in for him. It was a horrible  :fwap:fest of "I spotted Victor Moses" in the Bridges if emails to the legends were to be believed.

Possibly the teams that would consider him are in the bottom half with half an eye on relegation, and if they're going to spend biggish money it would need to be on players who could step in to their first teams right away.

unless it is just a totaly unrealistic low offer they can reject it, otherwise the administrators have to accept the players choice.

To be honest, how many times do Premiership clubs actually buy young players from Championship clubs, particularly ones who have never played in the Premier League. The odd one or two might go to Bolton, Stoke or clubs of that ilk but certainly not the top teams. Only Arsenal have done it recently I think with Ramsay (waits to be proved wrong with a list as long as my arm of just such players).

Spurs and Gareth Bale?

The player has all the power in this situation. The administrators might want to sell him to one club for 5 mill, but if he doesn't want to go he doesn't have to. He has a contract and is entitled to sit it out at Palace if he decides, if the club goes tits up then he can go where he likes anyway. The admins are desperate for cash so would probably take a reasonable offer if it meant getting some cash as opposed to none.

There is probably a few who have been to spurs over the last few years actually. Huddlestone and Dawson would go in that bracket. Still, I maintain it's not that common. They'd rather buy a more experienced player or preferably a foreigner.

Do you think he is going to risk being stuck with Palace/having to go somewhere he really doesn't want to go? There are only 4 days left, he will probably have a fair idea of where he wants to go (what type of team) and will have informed his agent already, much like I would expect the Pompey players will have. It's all now down to who comes in for him and what the administrators think is a fair offer for him.

No, he will probably want to get out, but I'd hope not at the risk of making a bad move for his career. He's got the ability and is going to get to a top team eventually. If he wants to come here but Palace are trying to send him to Wigan or something for an extra £1million then he'd be better off sitting tight and screwing them over.

They'd stand firm as a club like Manu could offer a misely million and he'd obviously want to go there rather than say WBA who offered £3-4m. Moses really doesn't have much choice.
