Funny isn't it, you can be talented beyond belief and earn more money than you could ever spend doing something we can only dream about. Yet with all that talent and money he shows no common sense of any kind, not a miniscule amount, absolutely nowt, he is trying to keep secret something when its no longer possible to do so, and all because he just couldn't hold his hands up when he got caught and say he's sorry, its so daft its funny.

I'm trying to work out if he is amazingly arrogant or just plain stupid........both it seems.

It's absolutely absurd, and while if there had been no injunction, this entire thing would have just blown over with a shrug of the shoulders at another footballer who can't keep his pants on, it''s now also the legal story of the past 5 years and it seems destined to be a much bigger thing than it could have been. The guy's a complete fuckwit, as well as a cunt.

Meh, once again twitter fail, but could be interesting if true - random on it saying Mehdi Abeid from Lens in Gosforth Hotel is there claiming he's signed for us.

Younging like, 18 or something.

Pinch of salt as normal.

quick search on google.fr comes up with this from two days ago, google translated:

Out of contract next June, Mehdi Abeid should not wear the jersey of RC Lens. Then he signed a professional contract three years ago along with Darnel Situ and Alexandre Coeff, the midfielder is not in the plans of leaders and have already obtained Lensois his letter of release, while there are some weeks, he spoke with us in negotiations for an extension. According to latest information, it would perform the same tests already in other clubs, maybe even in England. However, contacted by us, the champion of France's Under-18 in 2009 were willing to confirm nor deny these reports.

Once they legal complexities are sorted and this is all resolved I hope they call the new law after him. Either way once he's revelaed he becomes a reference point for all future super injunction storys in the media.

TV star is first to face jail over tweets after England footballer claims they breach injunction: Judge reports top journalist to Attorney-General

By ROBERT VERKAIK

A journalist on one of Britain’s most respected newspapers – who also appears on a widely-viewed BBC programme – could face a jail sentence after naming on Twitter a Premier League footballer who had taken out a privacy injunction.

In the first case of its kind, lawyers for the soccer star have persuaded a High Court judge to ask Attorney General Dominic Grieve QC to consider a criminal prosecution against the writer for breaching a privacy injunction. If Mr Grieve decides to issue contempt of court proceedings, the individual faces a prison sentence of up to two years.

The unprecedented legal action is the latest attempt by a public figure to try to curb the growing use of the internet – especially Twitter – to expose the adulterous affairs and misbehaviour of celebrities and footballers.

On Thursday, one of Britain’s leading privacy judges, Mr Justice Tugendhat, was told that an unnamed ‘someone’ had used Twitter to identify the married footballer at the centre of a scandal concerning a sexual relationship with a model.

The England footballer, known only by his court codename of TSE, instructed lawyers to ask the judge to pass the case on to the Attorney General’s office. And he agreed.

Due to the extraordinary restrictions surrounding the reporting of cases such as this, The Mail on Sunday cannot identify the journalist involved nor even provide readers with edited versions of his tweets.

It is believed that the messages were written about the player during a recent high-profile football match, which again The Mail on Sunday cannot identify due to court restrictions.

The footballers’ lawyers, libel and privacy specialists Schillings, are also representing another Premier League player who has brought a claim for Twitter to disclose the names of users who may have breached the terms of his privacy injunction. The San Francisco-based site has been given a week to comply with the order.

Last night the newspaper for whom the author of the messages is believed to write, said they did not think that the case related to them. But when asked whether they had been contacted by Schillings about the messages, the newspaper declined to comment.

This injunction situation is getting dangerous. Whoever is advising Giggs CTB has got it all wrong, because everyone knows its him and he should just man up and admit it now. Didn't an article say the player told his wife? That 'Streisand effect' link is spot on.....the longer he drags this out, the less likely it is to go away. Just admit it, Giggsy CTB-sy!

Rapidly losing my respect for 'CTB' as a person. Like some of you have said, he should man the f*** up and admit to the dirty deed. The damage was done as soon as he shagged the lass.

The action against Twitter has led to foreign media which is considered respected enough for a cite to run the story and name the player involved, which means the injunction and the affair allegations are now on his Wikipedia page, with those attempting to redact them as 'unsourced gossip' through talk pages and edit wars seemingly admitting defeat.

Sunday Mirror:

The sex-cheat footballer who is suing Twitter had turned himself into an international laughing stock by last night - named and ridiculed by defiant internet users around the world.

The shamed star's decision to take on the social networking site after posts named him as the 'family man' player who cheated on his wife with ex-Big Brother contestant Imogen Thomas backfired in spectacular fashion. Even people who had never heard of him were lampooning the Premier League ace's farcical attempt to curb free speech.

Emma Davies, wife of Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin, wrote: 'Suing Twitter? Wouldn't it be a better idea to keep your head down!!' Celebs with huge followings also mocked him. TV host Piers Morgan tweeted: 'Get a new lawyer', while comedian Dom Joly told him to 'stop being a c**k'.

The flurry of messages made the star one of Twitter's hottest topics, known as 'trending', prompting scores of users to post: 'I can't Imogen why.' Thousands changed their profile picture to a snap of the star.

His lawyers went to court this week to try to force details from Twitter about users who blew his cover. But his efforts have been compared to the attempts by tyrants like Egypt's ousted president Hosni Mubarak to try to silence Twitter.

The farcical situation means that if the player - only referred to as CTB in legal documents - is selected for his team's match this afternoon, virtually the entire stadium will know his identity. Rival fans were openly using websites to co-ordinate chants about him at today's games. Media lawyer Mark Stephens said: 'By trying to stop the unstoppable tide of information as it flows through the internet, he has become the King Canute of football.'

Legal experts estimate the player has already spent around 228,037 on legal fees, but as everyone on Twitter can see trending topics, it means the site's 200 million global users now know his guilty secret.

Websites outside the UK not covered by the court gagging order joined in the mass scramble to embarrass him. US Forbes magazine named the player directly, as did popular US gossip website Gawker.

Twitter is based in San Francisco, effectively putting it out of the reach of British courts, in a country where the First Amendment enshrines the right to free speech. If he took action in California, he would be automatically named. Meanwhile on BBC Radio 4's Today programme a guest almost blurted out the player's first name.

The row started four weeks ago, when his six-month affair with 28-year-old Imogen was revealed along with the legal ban on naming him. The injunction allowed her to be named but not him. Former Miss Wales Imogen sobbed: 'My life is in pieces.'

The player is being represented by legal firm Schillings, whose partner Rod Christie-Miller said: 'The people who have been secretly and anonymously tweeting the details of these injunctions may find a knock on their door and they could be facing a long time in Pentonville (Jail).'

Legal sources now believe the injunction could be overturned within days. Last night Schillings said they were not suing Twitter but had applied 'to obtain limited information concerning the unlawful use of Twitter by a small number of individuals who may have breached a court order'.

This all seems like a really long and late April Fool's joke. To think the last moments of his career might be tarnished due how he's acted off the field, I can't work out if I should be laughing or facepalming.
