Punk77
I've been saying for a while that we need to sign Hooper before he gets the England call up (which he will, as he's much better than Bothroyd. I can see Liverpool taking him in a year or two. Holy Moly just looked at his record. Carr get out there in your scout mobile and sign that man immediatly. Strange that we didn't try snap him before Celtic bought him. Will be too expensive now, I think Who is that young Blackpool lad who's just breaking through? Right winger/forward I think. If they go down I'd be up for a cheeky bid for him (even though I can't remember his name!) I think it's Phillps you're after: http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10432~53280,00.html Actually may not be as much as you might think: http://www.scotzine.com/2011/02/celtic-debt-rises-to-9-million/ Could have some effect on the price, but if Hooper continue this run, there will talks about a england call up. Subsequently the price will go sky high.
ponsaelius
It was only a year ago that City were being linked with Perotti for £40m. Carlton Cole wouldn't be that bad of a signing for £10m, like. He's got a fair bit of talent, just hasn't been using it this past year or so. He's shite man. You'd be paying £10 million for somebody with a worse record than Shola.
Cajun
I wouldn't let Forster go.

AyeDubbleYoo
I wouldn't let Forster go. Neither would I, not right now anyway. Would be silly until we know which of Forster and Krul is the long-term No1.
Teasy
Here's the bad news: Those sites are bollocks. Surely that's good news when it comes to the £10m Cole story? Anyway goal is just quoting different papers, the Mirror for the Cole story and the Mail for the Perroti story.

Gallowgate Toon
I'd love to have Perotti but he's out of our reach, surely. He's a great talent and he'll be expensive as well, no way Sevilla will let him go cheap.

Village Idiot
I personally find that €7m figure very, very hard to believe. Sevilla never sell cheap.
Gallowgate Toon
Perotti is well behaved though, Ben Arfa is a loose cannon that teams weren't willing to take a risk on. 7m is press talk, he's worth a lot more than that and Sevilla know it, they won't let him go for such a small amount. Ok, lets say €10-15m, but thats still a good price if the potensial is what it looks like.

He'll be 28 at the start of the next season and has barely showed any ability in his entire career. Quite surprised you actually rate him, and at £10 million too. Bad, bad player. I don't think he's quite worth £10m, just don't think he'd be that bad a signing at that price. He's one of those players who's awareness will just click at some point, like Zamora's did. Only he's naturally a better finisher and athlete.
Guest
Similar to Doyle, Elmander, etc in that alongside a good poacher he'd be alright imo.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's quite a gamble to think that Carlton Cole's awareness will suddenly click for the season after we sign him for a large fee though.
toontownman
Would be physically sick if we spend money on Carlton Cole. As a footballer he is a guttless, talentless, spineless, Waste of skin.
Superior Acuña
Wasn't Cole one of the 7 'Toon player' rapists in London in the Bobby era - with Titus et al.
