hakka
I'd rather we played Best than Shola or Nolan. Surprised at that. From what I have seen Best is just as lazy and is worse at scoring goals.
Ronaldo
As lazy as Shola? I doubt it, unless this injury has killed him.
hakka
Even if he isn't as lazy, surely the lack of goals is more concerning?
AliGupter
Even if he isn't as lazy, surely the lack of goals is more concerning? He's started 5 games.
Cajun
Scored a couple and looked very dangerous in pre-season. Was blatantly going to be up there in the scoring charts this season, still could be.
Foluwashola
No way I'd play Best over Shola. Wor Shola can come out out with some unexpected piece of magic every few months. From what Best has shown and his past record, he is undoubtedly shit.
Ronaldo
Shola's demonstrated that for a decade.
Foluwashola
Best couldn't do to Tooting & Mitcham what Shola did to Chelsea.
Ronaldo
Nor have we ever seen Shola strike a ball like Best did in the FA cup against Portsmouth last season.
Segun Oluwaniyi
I think people are giving Shola too much credit. He is immobile, lazy, and does not display the attributes of an intelligent footballer. If we are chasing a goal, then maybe throw him in off the bench. However, if we are starting him from the beginning, I'd like us to utilise players who will contribute more to the team. This includes Nolan and everyone else except injured players and the coaching staff.
Foluwashola
I think people realise Shola isn't the be all and end all of the International game. The fact is the options we have available are shit. If we are to play 2 up top, Shola is the best option however.

Broadsword
Newcastle have not made any approach for Sporting Lisbon's Chile international Matias Fernandez, according to his agent. Reports have suggested that the Premier League club are planning a January bid for the attacking midfielder in order to add some creativity. But Fernandez's agent, Alejandro Santiesteban, has yet to hear from representatives of Newcastle regarding the 24-year-old. "I'm not aware of the reported interest in Matias from Newcastle," Santiesteban told Portuguese media. "Nobody has got in touch with me so I think it must be a rumour. "If a team is really interested in a player and has to pay a transfer fee then they have to get in touch with me and the club. That hasn't happened." Fernandez is under contract at Sporting until 2014 and is believed to be valued at £20million. Dear god. Skysports.com. I guess it is accurate though we have not made an approach. TaylorJ_01
Safe to say we won't sign any of these players. The press even linking us with £20mil players is laughable
Guest Heneage
I think 20m is his buyout clause. Portuguese clubs are notorious for putting in daft figures.
