Beckham? Many thought he would fail badly if he moved to La Liga or Serie A but he had done well.....any others?

Did they? He hasn't exactly been great in Serie A anyway.

He is an old gadge now. He certainly silenced his critics after WC 98.

Owen Hargreaves after World Cup 2006. Was ridiculous the grief he got by our press.

Excellent call, can't think of any as good as that.

I'd love to say Heskey but I feel people will never admit that he's a good player, possibly Peter Crouch, he's been the subject of ridicule so many times in his career, but he's actually very good.

Leading up to Euro 96 there were strong calls for Shearer to be dropped for Ferdinand as he'd went about 12-13 international games without a goal.

Park. Darren Bent.

Darren Bent is a difficult one as his critics would never dispute that he can score goals, but they'd say he's not got the best touch and is not capable of making the next step up. Not sure he's silenced them on that one tbh.

Darren Fletcher might be a better example, look at Man U fans' attitude to him a couple of years ago.

Owen Hargreaves is the absolute epitome

Xavi, Iniesta, Senna

Gomes, Bale, Dawson

Colo, Enrique, Nolan (to a very small extent)

Drogba

Butt (for one season)

Zamora

Ginola

Darren Fletcher

C.Ronaldo

Lampard

I can still see it clicking for Berbatov. His talent is just too big, if he goes somewhere else he'll get back on track imo.

He wasn't a success in La Liga either (not entirely his fault), and his venture in LA has been mixed to say the least.

They are managers, but I'd say Van Gaal and McLaren. Van Gaal was close to the sack during his early times at Bayern.
