Englands World Cup 90 Squad

Englands Euro 96 Squad.

Perhaps this is where we've gone wrong since, too much positive hype of England in the media in the build up.

What if instead of fawning over Beckham's metertarsal in 2002, the media questioned his place in the squad from day one, would it have had a better effect?

Agree on Milner.

I wouldn't say Rooney had critics, but a couple of years ago, there seemed to be a lot of doubters.

As for Beckham, it really depends on which criticism you listen to. My feeling with him is that while he has certain talents (set pieces and crossing) which catch the eye, he also has some limitations and his overall contribution to a side isn't always positive for that reason. He's only won one trophy since he left Man U, (la Liga with Real) and he struggled to get in that team.

Andy Carroll silences his critics.....often with a glass to the face or a fist to the jaw.

LOL so true.

Did you call my pint a puff ? ;)

For me, it's Enrique who had a few slight doubters, Collo did certainly, and seems to be improving every game, and Jonas has shown the few questions we had were misplaced. O0

John Tudor - once widely ridiculed and barracked by the crowd until the day he blew kisses to the fans.

Turned out to be a bit of a cult hero after that.

Hallelujah, John Tudor, John Tudor.

Hallelujah, John Tudor, John Tudor.
