Dave
Much better today and only a fabulous save prevented him opening his account for the tournament. Not a worry really.
Jayson
Shouldve had an assist for Gerrards chance to & unlucky with defoes offside goal, was much improved. Just lacking in confidence a little.

Guest Howaythetoon
He's not fully fit but today he was still quite effective and could have scored a goal which is all he needs really now as the games are providing him with a platform to regain full fitness which you can see he's heading towards. David28
Will score against Germany. They will underestimate him because he hasn't scored yet. Could be a big plus in the end.
Dokko
Taking him off was a good idea, hopefully give him a bit more in the next game.

Guest ObiChrisKenobi
I guess if you really had to search for answers then burnout could be one, he's usually had an injury before this point in a season (3-4 weeks 'rest'). This is one of this few complete seasons.
mrmojorisin75
called it months ago, carried manu through the season, running on empty thanks fergie you cunt he might, MIGHT come good if some other players perform for a game or two but if he's continually expected to carry england forget it
Jayson
Lampards more of a concern surely. Bit better today, but beyond simple passing & the rebound he sliced really didnt come into the game again. Not that he did badly, just not the same "world class" standard of player he is at Chelsea by far.

Not really, as Lampard never steps up for England, sadly
womblemaster
i was disappointed cappello still played lamaprd from the start, any manager with balls would have subbed himon from the bench
Cronky
Played a lot better today, and that was the major factor behind the team playing better. Still not mentally all there though. He was very greedy for one chance in the first half, where he should have knocked the ball right to Milner.
juniatmoko
he shouldn't play so deep.. so his energy wasn't wasted in entire game. He should be keep dangerous for opponent by keep burst into goal area as often as possible. By the end he is being substitute he seem losing all his breath. He play awful really in 3 WC games really below par from his usual standard.

Lampard was a passenger again today, England don't accommodate him like Chelsea do and because of that he's a spare part most of the time. Really would like to see him dropped, Gerrard coming inside with J Cole out on the left.
Fugazi
Much better today and only a fabulous save prevented him opening his account for the tournament. Not a worry really. Was a rather scuffed shot though, had he hit it cleanly then he probably would have scored.

Guest Phil K
Rooney ? If he's judged by what he's done so far, he's been p*ss poor at best

Aye, was still a half-decent save, but you would expect Rooney to put those away.
afar
Much better today and only a fabulous save prevented him opening his account for the tournament. Not a worry really. What He's not been anywhere near the world class player he claims to be, he needs to step it up big time in the next game, if selected, otherwise we go home. Fabulous save my arse, he scuffs the shot and the keeper gets a finger or two on it but there's not enough of a deviation to suggest had he not, it was going in. Rooney thus far has been a huge let down, for everyone that has any interest in England, he's not the only one and Lampard is right up there with him in the dissapointed stakes but because he's assumed this title of a world great and seems happy to live with it, he needs to perform like one.
