AyeDubbleYoo
Is it for licensing reasons that MOTD don't just divide the programme into equal parts for each game? Are they only allowed a certain number of 'extended highlights' games?

Aphrodite
Is it for licensing reasons that MOTD don't just divide the programme into equal parts for each game? Are they only allowed a certain number of 'extended highlights' games? They're all similar lengths- the maximum they can show is 10 minutes. The first few games get more studio analysis which is why they might seem longer.
Stifler
Is it for licensing reasons that MOTD don't just divide the programme into equal parts for each game? Are they only allowed a certain number of 'extended highlights' games? They have to show all Saturday games, otherwise it would just be a big 4 or Sky 6 wankfest and fuck everyone else, let the newspapers tell their stories in the Sunday newspapers. Yeah I know that, what I meant was why they don't treat every game exactly equally.

I've seen them show 20 minutes of a game before, only the other weeks their was a weekend when their was only one or two games on the Saturday because of the fixture list. They should at least have a red button option for the game of focus.
madras
Is it for licensing reasons that MOTD don't just divide the programme into equal parts for each game? Are they only allowed a certain number of 'extended highlights' games? no, it's because then people would complain about having to watch a fulham blackburn goal less game for the same length of time a chelsea manutd goal fest. i get your point though, MotD (and it's itv brother when it was over there) has a pure focus on the top 4 or 5 regardless of the quality or excitement of the game. try the written media, the coverage outside the top 5 is crap, the coverage outside the prem is atrocious. I was just thinking that the order wouldn't be so important if they dedicated the same amount of time to each game. Would get them out of any accusations of favouritism as well.
