AyeDubbleYoo
If the Mackems and Celtic have a chance, then so do we. We should be doing every bastard thing to get him. This is kind of what I was thinking... although obviously finances will probably rule it out.
ponsaelius
If the Mackems and Celtic have a chance, then so do we. We should be doing every b****** thing to get him. This is kind of what I was thinking... although obviously finances will probably rule it out. Surely Ashley must realise we have to stretch financially for 1 piece of quality in the team. Christ it's not much to ask for, theoretically getting Ben Arfa or Bellamy for example would probably keep us up. Christ, we could probably pay Bellamy's wages if we fobbed off Smith. Stu
Would love him back here, never managed to bring myself to hate him, even after he left. Always struck me as someone who's really passionate about the game with a huge drive to win, which is what fuels him being a gobby shite. That said, if I was being sensible I'd bear a grudge about him feigning injury, but I dunno. There's something about a little twat who's your little twat that kind of gives you a soft spot for them and somehow that's stuck with me. and over there there's friends of mine, what can I say? I've known for for a long, long time and yeah, they might overstep the line, but I just can not get angry in the same way....no, not in the same way
Guest Stephen927
If we got Bellamy, and he stayed fit, he'd be the difference between staying up and going down tbh.
Guest sittingontheball
If we sold Jonas, would his wages cover Bellamy's? I know who'd get us more end product.
M4
If we got Bellamy, and he stayed fit, he'd be the difference between staying up and going down tbh. Even if he played 1 game in 3 he'd probably still be enough of a difference!

OOOOOHHHHHH - EXTRAORDINARY!! HAS THERE EVER BEEN A MORE DRAMATIC NIGHT IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE??" Still gives me chills.
Ronaldo
he'd be a damn sight better than ameobi , best , lovenkrands , nolan , ranger. Do you really think so?
Scoreboard82
Undoubtedly have him back. To think he's even contemplating playing in the championship. What a waste that would be. He should never have been forced out by Souness in the 1st place.
Guest
Playing him on the wing was hardly forcing him out. He was a cunt for doing what he did, but I'd still have him back in a flash.
Dave
Apparently laughed at the prospect when asked by one of the NE journos the other day. No chance he'll be coming back.

Ronaldo
It wasn't just playing him on the wing, it was very clear that Souness had it in for him. That substitution at Charlton still makes me angry.

That substitution at Charlton still makes me angry. Aye, it was Souness on a power trip, trying to show he was the boss. Unfortunately, i think there's too much of a bad history between him and NUFC for him to return.
M4
He was the best player at the club that season. Shame Souey couldn't have picked someone else to pick on

Guest
Since this is a hypothetical thread, would anyone else accept £6m for Jonas if it meant Ben Arfa in for £7m and Bellamy on loan?
