Guest JS
Think its a combination of being found out a bit and being coached into something he's not. Thing is when he came he kept things simple and that was why he was so effective. I remember him being hassled by the Arsenal midfield and still being neat and tidy with the ball so no reason he can't get back to that. No was should he be in the side ahead of Anita at the moment though, he deserves his 1st team place. Is pretty much what I think. You can't just have physicality in your locker to cut the mustard as a starting top league midfielder. He can pass (simply) when under no real pressure / has his back to the opposition and can run / mark. That's really it. Somebody like Gattuso had so much more to his game apart from sole tenacity. No wonder the Dutch fans thought we were idiots for treating him like a 'demi god' initially. Mind, to his credit, he played like a king vs Liverpool in Pardews first game and he's been decent against the other bigger sides too, but I think his days here should be ending soon. Which Dutch fans? No need to rewrite history; he was fantastic when he first came in, and I for one back him to refind that level. Was it not on some Ajax forums after we signed Anita? I know I know.. Ajax fans..
Guest neesy111
Tiote's form has been waning for ages. Even when we finished 5th, I can only think of a few standout performances. It's been ever since Pardew said he could be the complete midfielder. He even started taking corners after that ffs.
Ronaldo
context means nothing to tiote's form apparently - he's to be judged in total isolation - everyone take note Context? You're highlighting a season in which we finished 12th and totally disregarding the rest of his career.
Swissmag
He needs singling out because he's a brainless idiot that costs us points and contributes nothing in a footballing sense. The rest generally do. what a sensible post

That is forgotten a lot of the time honesty felt we performed better more often with Cabaye and Guthrie. Although he did have some outstanding performances. MyPalAl
He was absolutely dog shit last night. Should be nowhere near the starting 11 imo
Guest bimpy474
He should have one job, protect the back four. But Pardew's tactics and Tiote's own lack of common sense mean that's exactly the one thing he doesn't do.
SiLvOR
Awful player, furious he started.

David Icke - Son of God
He was absolutely dog s*** last night. Should be nowhere near the starting 11 imo Why was he dogshit? You watched the game? Couldn't pass, couldn't tackle, slowed the game right down every time he got the ball and we were looking to build a bit of momentum.

The College Dropout
Thought he was alreet tbh. Equally as poor defensively as Anita.. apart from that suicide ball from Krul into him he was decent in possession.
AyeDubbleYoo
Incredible the lack of protection the defence had, given that we were basically playing two holding players and swapped our wide men around for defensive reasons.

I've been say this for a year Ian, we have no one sitting in front. And when we did in Anita against Villa and Fulham we played better. As soon as Tiote comes back in.....well it's there for everyone to see.
The College Dropout
Our whole positioning is just too wide and open.CB's too far apart. Fullbacks away on walkies. Gap between midfield and defence large. Midfield 2 are flat and wide apart, one ball down the middle takes them both out the game. Just terrible. Someone needs to be between the CB - 7 yards in front.

Not sure if this is a serious question? Obviously I did watch it, otherwise I wouldn't post such a comment
Ronaldo
I tell you what, considering he's been our only real DM over the past 4 seasons we don't half look at our very worst defensively with him on the field. That leaves his attacking prowess, I guess.
Smal
Watch this guy closely and you'll see he offers absolutely nothing. He's so awful positionally that he's not offering any protection to the back four. Then you add in he has no ability offensively...

He's so awful positionally that he's not offering any protection to the back four. Then you add in he has no ability offensively... I guess you didn't watch him that closely. He was perfect for the first 60 minutes, not a single mistake and won the ball back a lot. Kept it very simple with passes that Anita would be praised for. Lost the ball once or twice after that and misplaced couple of passes. Still one of the best for us alongside Cabaye and Remy.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
I thought this was one of Tioté's best games in ages.
Lenny
that's a pretty poor assessment from smal if he's using today's game as evidence. Thought he had a good game.
Pata
That post was probably written before the game started.
Unlucky Luque
He was decent in the first half, just keeping it simple. When we were under pressure he was dallying and pirouetting as if he saw it as his job retaining possession, stupid decision making.
