He's generally always been a hinderance against teams we've been expected to beat - and that was before his athleticism took a nosedive. He'd literally just help play the opposition back into the game with his stupid fouls in dangerous areas and inability to keep the ball when pressed. Rafa knows he's shit, so it's all moot. Rafa was picking Tiote at the back end of last season so he clearly doesn't think he's shit. If anything, asking for a fee suggests that he knows he's still got value, if we're letting him go it's because he's got a year left on his contract and he wants a move. If he doesn't get it, he'll probably feature in quite a few games this season. Steven Taylor too. Taylor was dropped as Rafa got to know the squad better, whereas Tiote was brought back into the team and that coincided with our unbeaten run. No they don't I think Tiote will play games this season if he's not sold, as Colback will too. We lack central midfielders which sort of tells it's own story when we're willing to let Tiote leave. Even though we do need to go at most teams in this league Rafa still loves to kill games off after we go ahead. Tiote is perfect for this, particularly away from home.
