Sifu
His self-proclaimed "Mr Geordie" image has really increased his ego and that does hinder his ability to play his game - he pretty much uses such an image to hide from his mistakes. Having said that, we've seen on many occasions that he is a solid CB on his day so for that reason, I'd keep him on. Unfortunately he is still prone to some naive/daft decisions which he must remove from his game as soon as possible.

But the thing is he's 27 now - how much more time does a defender need to learn not to do daft shit? The sort of thing he's prone to is what you could expect from a young player, but he's way passed that point now. Sadly I don't think he has the footballing intelligence to ever rid himself of these errors :/

He needs to look back at what he was doing then and try and return to that mindset otherwise he will be sitting on the bench for quite a while. Rocker
My brother has the same circle of friends and often see's Steven Taylor, and Taylor has said Pardew has hardly said a word to him ( and a handful of others) since the Mackem game. Oddly he also said that he doesn't think Pardew will be there next month.
TRC
Aye I've heard exactly the same. I'm guessing we are talking about the same people to be honest.

Once he stops playing up to that persona and actually concentrate on what's happening on the field, we'll see the Taylor from 2011/12 again imo. Needs a kick right up the arse, his time away from the team should be a wake up call.

Can't see any reason he wouldn't be here next month tbh he ain't gonna walk or he'd have gone the moment JFK bullshitted his way back into the club. And he's not likely to get sacked in the near future.

I'm not disputing his ability and really don't mind the crowd stuff if I'm honest, but if the lads just gets his shit together mentally, stops switching off and/or making bizarre decisions I can't see him being a bad player with a more intelligent and commanding CB next to him

Ronaldo
He did. He asserts himself in both boxes better than any of our other defenders. We'll never truly be able to rely on him but he's a starter for me within the current squad.
Mole_Toonfan
Aye no one mention he was at fault for the first goal. And no he isn't a starter he's too brainless and he and Mapou can't play together. Tiote and the rest of the midfield did a very good job of protecting him that's about all there is to it. Guest palnese
Williamson did a pretty fucking poor job for the first goal as well.

Mole_Toonfan
Williamson did a pretty f***ing poor job for the first goal as well. Williamson has his spot and doesn't need to prove anything.... and besides Taylor was the one who was marking Dzeko and Taylor was the one who failed abysmally to stop him from getting past him to tap in the opening goal. Does amuse that no matter how shit Taylor is he will always be defended, we will never go anywhere with dross like this starting.

I'm not a fan of Taylor, but at least he was attempting to block Dzeko's shot, plus he was probably expecting Williamson to try and cut out the cross at the near post. He shouldn't have to block his shot if he actually stops him from getting a yard on him to begin with..... this is what i mean by saying he's brainless his positional sense is god awful. Mapou doesn't allow that goal to happen and neither does Colo because they know that you don't allow the striker to get a yard on you in the box. Taylor doesn't get this though and thinks he can win every single ball, he's brainless.
