Oh well. This only confirms that Ashley had him lined up for weeks and waited for an opportunity to stab Hughton in the back. Hope Pardew suffers the same ASAP, as the shitbag was in on it all along.

to be fair i'd guess most managerial appointments have been sounded out at least before the present incumbent is got rid of.

 

pardew is getting stick because he is an assumed associate of ashleys and isn't appreciably better than what we had already.

I'm with Ronaldo. The only consolation I'm taking from this is that I'm not alone - (hopefully) many more will stand together and say enough is enough.

Alan Pardew is set to be named as the new Newcastle manager within the next 24 hours, BBC Sport understands.

 

The former Reading, West Ham, Charlton and Southampton boss was among the favourites to take over from Chris Hughton, who was sacked on Monday.

 

Hughton led Newcastle into the top flight last season but following his dismissal the club said it wanted someone "with more experience".

 

Pardew, 49, has been out of work since being sacked by Southampton in August.

 

BBC Sport understands that Pardew was in talks with Newcastle about taking over at St James' Park as long as 10 days ago.

 

It is believed Pardew became close friends with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and director Derek Llambias when all three were familiar faces at an exclusive London casino where Llambias was managing director.

 

Reserve team boss and ex-Magpies striker Peter Beardsley was initially put in charge of first team affairs.

I'd say the situation is worse. When JFK came in we were a fucking shambles already. It was the icing on a shambolic cake. Up until Monday we were in a bad patch but a solid position after a good start to the season. The scale of change in outlook since Monday morning (48 hours ago!) is more dramatic

In September 2003, Pardew resigned from Reading after being refused permission to become manager at West Ham. Reading's chairman John Madejski attempted to create an injunction in the High Court to prevent him from moving to West Ham. Eventually Reading's legal action was dropped, and Pardew joined West Ham after a period of gardening leave.[6]

In December 2005, Pardew stated a public interest in Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson, without informing Palace manager Iain Dowie.[23]

In March 2006, Pardew had a dispute with Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, after he criticised Arsenal for failing to field an English player in their UEFA Champions League win against Real Madrid.[24] Wenger suggested that Pardew was being xenophobic,[25] a claim Pardew denied, citing his marriage to a Swedish wife.[26]

In November 2006, Pardew had another dispute with Wenger after celebrating West Ham's win over Arsenal.[27] Wenger claimed he was "provoked" into pushing Pardew after Pardew's celebrations at West Ham's late win.[28] Wenger was later fined by the Football Association,[29] whilst Pardew was cleared of the charges in January 2007.[30]

In February 2007, shortly before Pardew's new club Charlton faced West Ham, The Sun published a report documenting a video of one of Pardew's media training sessions he took whilst manager at West Ham. In the video, Pardew jokingly made several disparaging comments about West Ham's fans.[31]

In October 2007, Pardew intervened on the pitch in a match against Hull City to try and break up a confrontation between Charlton and Hull players after Lloyd Sam and Ian Ashbee were sent-off. Pardew denied he made the situation worse by intervening.[32]

In March 2009, on Match of the Day 2 Pardew stated that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien "absolutely rapes" Man City player Ched Evans during a midfield tussle for the ball, in the sense that he bested him physically.[33] The BBC said there will be no on-air apology, despite 35 viewer complaints, insisting it had been misheard as "rakes", and expressing no certainty that Pardew would appear, or not appear on the show again.[34]

Fuck any suggestion of "Oh, well, he's manager now, we have to back him."  I want this cunt to only be able to enter the ground in a Group4 van with a towel over his head with a braying mob battering the outside like Myra Hindley's turning up for court.  I'm resigned to the football scoreline on Saturday now, my hope is that there's a good number of shots on target in terms of bottles of piss and pound coins.

 

Make no mistake, this has been the plan for over a month and it's only good results which have annoyingly got in the way of Ashley giving another one of his mates another job earlier on.

I could accept Hughton's dismissal if a better manager was brought in to replace him, but to replace him with a cretin like Pardew beggars belief.

 

I think I'll be keeping my feet warm on Saturday and not attending

It really is pathetic and shameful the way Hughton has been treated... the idea that Ashley has been waiting for an excuse to do this and bring in Pardew is sickening.

If you accept their reasons for getting rid of CH and they appear to be based on a lack of confidence in his managerial rather than coaching abilities- then by applying those same principles how does pardew become the man for the job.

 

Its a debatable issue whether Hughtons sacking was right or wrong but having made that decision you must surely have a replacement who has a proven record of excellence.
