I really don't see what they could say that could explain why they let the striker chase enter the final day of the transfer window which culminated in the embarrassing bid for a player taking a medical to sign for another club.

#NUFC been working on statement re transfer business. Nothing to do with Alan Pardew's position. He's frustrated, but going nowhere

Traffic Jams :(

i wish george bush was our manager, at least the statements and press conferences would be amusing.

'I assure all the fans of newcastle united around the world that we are doing all we can to get the right striker in for the club, now watch this drive'

They'll say their hands were tied in regards to Maiga, Roux, Cisse, et al. and that Ruiz was a done deal but that his agent took a left when he should have taken a right and got lost on the way to the helicopter which scuppered the deal.

Nah, can't see them being that specific/excuse making. That's Pardew's job.

Pardew: "Bryan arrived at our meeting spot and we tried to speak. He couldnt talk a word of English so we had to call Mike's Costa Rican mate from central London who owns this massive casino right, like loads of tables and bandits n stuff yeah....anyway when he arrived Bryan was cold so we went for a coffee and ended up playing a quick game of Racheal. Mike realised the time and we ran Battersea but, as you know cause SSN told you, there was certain air restrictions which prevented us from flying out. So Mike got this big truck to come and move it but it was going to take hours so we decided to ask Fulham if we could use their facilities to undergo a medical exam and sign the contract. Mike offered Al Fayed a free night in his casino but he said na. So we couldnt do owt else man. And in the process of running to the heli thingy Mike lost his Parker pen so he wouldnt have been able to sign anyway."

they will just defend themselves as usual. nothing will come out of a new statement. its not as if there going to be like "oh were so sorry we are going to change our ways and now be ambitious". we need to get used to the way the club is run. its painful i know but until we have new owners, the clubs philosophy and policies will not change. its just so depressing knowing we're settling for average.

The people who run the club have never admitted they are in the wrong and will change in the future, and im sure this statement and answering the fans questions will be a show of defence and will again outline what we already know about the clubs policies.

"Newcastle United worked hard on the deadline day to try and bring in a striker, but in the end it was too late. Too often, teams and agents moved the goalposts and made it incredibly difficult for us to do any business.

"We do not let deadline day cloud what was a very successful transfer window however. We parted with players that weren't sold on the NUFC vision and also brought in some amazing talent."

"Yohan Cabaye, Davide Santon and Demba Ba are very talented players and add so much to Alan Pardew's team, which has had a very good start to the season."

"Add to this the emergence of talent such as Sammy Ameobi and Haris Vuckic and we have a very promising future ahead of us."

"We continue to strive to make NUFC one of the best brands in Europe and our acquisitions in this window have helped to raise the profile of this club in France and the rest of Europe."
