Alan Pardew

I'm totally gutted we didn't get a high class striker as we were promised. But I think most of the squad has been assessed. My hopes are still there that some of your youths will take a massive step up this season and even close one of the gaps in our squad. We got plenty of young promising players wich are worth looking at. Like Vuckic, Abeid, Ferguson, Tavernier etc.

But I do believe they tried with the strikers they have been telling us they went for. And seemingly they have went through a long list aswell. Price haven't allways been the issue, as Gervinho chose Arsenal, Gameiro chose PSG, Erdinc chose to fight for his place at PSG, Maiga wasn't allowed to leave by Sochoux. I do believe they tried and had some nippy strikers with good finishing ability to get the goals we needed. And no I don't want the management to go for just any kind of striker. I wouldn't want another Viduka, or Martins or Owen at the club at this point.

They always try and fail, always have an excuse. Its getting sad now that people are still finding excuses for them.

35 mil - 8 months and still no true replacement for carroll.

He needs to learn to stop making promises but he's been completely hung out to dry by Ashley/Llambias. He's the one who has to face the questions from fans/pundits/journos and he's the one who is going to face the heat if it goes tits up. Do you think Llambias will be there to support him? lol Llambias hasn't got the bollocks to answer questions, look at Pardew's first press conference which was probably one of the most challenging situations anyone could face in that climate.

I'm sick to death of Pardew's aimless quotes coming back to haunt him but my anger is directed squarely at Ashley/Llambias and Llambias in particular. Under the current circumstances Pardew is the best we'll get because quite frankly who else would work under these conditions? Many others like Keegan would simply walk away.

I was going to right pretty much the same thing ,if Pardew had any balls he would walk away imho but we dont know what sort of hold they have over him (casino debts) or he might not give a s*** and take one for the boys .His press conference will be very interesting and hopefully the red tops will give him the right questions and make him squirm and rightly so.

"If Pardew had any balls he would walk". What good would fucking that do? People need to come off that shit. I'm really glad he's hanging in there. We'll be in total mess if he leaves.

This. For God's sake get a grip everyone. Yes he tends to put his foot in his mouth but while these owners are here we aren't going to get any better. All he needs to do is shut his trap, coach the side as best he can and try and keep the spirit up.

Would you be happy if Pardew decided to walk the next few days?

God no, can only imagine what pondlife resides beneath him willing to tae that job.

We would be right up shit creek if Pardew walked. He is widely seen as Ashley's man much moreso than any of our other managers under Mike Ashley. He is seen as a friend of Ashley's who was given the job because of that friendship, if he walked away that would be curtains for any decent manager wanting to manage us.

I am sure Pardew has been led up the garden path by Ashley as well as others before him, but he seems a strong character and I can't see him walking. It does not benefit anyone if he walks.

He has done an ok job since taking over in a difficult situation, I am not a big fan of his but he deserves some credit, he is between a rock and a hard place regarding transfers. I am sure he would love to had a striker in yesterday, but he's not exactly in a position to cause a fuss about it. I am sure that he will stick up for the board and come out with a load of bull re: trying to sign players, but I still blame Mike and Dezza for putting him in that position.

Spot on.  He would get much more respect and credit if he stopped trying to appease the fans by lying.  Lost count of the broken '100%' promises and constant contradictions.

Quite like the bloke, but he needs to pipe the fuck down and stop misleading everyone!

Come on dont be daft he would get a job in football no problem ,its not like getting shafted by your boss at Tesco for instance and you wouldnt leave cos your chances of getting a steady job for life anywhere else would be pretty much zero after that ,Pardew thinking for himself would say "fuck it im off" as he is being hung out to dry either against his will or not , "We'll be in a total mess if he leaves "  well thats pretty selfish from our view point but im looking from his point of view and hopefully you understand where i am coming from ,we would be well in the shit if he did leave and i know that   O0

If Pardew walks we end up with Kinnear. So I'm happy for him to keep eating s*** from Ashley and Llambias until they sell.

Why do people assume he will sell as soon as he makes us profitable enough to repay his mistakes? The mans a businessman, he is motivated by making money so any buyers would no doubt have to pay top dollar for this new look NUFC.

Charged by the FA for improper conduct. Imagine it's probably for his rant during the Fulham game.

No, its for his comments pre-Sunderland, where he mentioned Barton not getting special treatment, or summit.

Yeah my bad, I meant Scunthorpe in the cup anyway.

They really are pedantic on that these days.

So last year all the good games was due to Hughton, even when he left people were giving him and Barton/Nolan etc the credit whenever things went our way.

Now, even when we have sold Barton, Nolan and Enrique, Pardew gave us the best start to a season since 1995. When is he going to get any credit? Fact is he is the best manager we have had since Sir BR, even if he is MA's man.

He has been given credit for these results. Check this thread and the match threads.

You'll never be able to remove his links with this regime though. The fact that his appointment was called about 3 months before it happened owes alot to the fact that Hughton got the old Kansas City Shuffle off Ashley.

Based on what exactly?

That may be, but he is still the best manager we have had in a very long time, and probably the best we could get under the current regime. I for one feel very positive about the start of the season and the new team, even if we did not spend 40+ millions or got the striker we need.  People are loosing it because a striker most of them had never heard of, and never seen play turned us down. We dont know what happened yesterday, but I think buying the wrong striker could be worse than buying noone at all.
