Alan Pardew

If Hughton took us as far as he could, then fuck me Pardew did a while ago with his shrewd transfer dealings [if indeed he even had much to do with them]. What else has he got left to offer? Serious question. What are his strengths as a manager?

Tactically incapable and an idiot, quite frankly. 1,208 pages attesting to the fact that 95% of the board know HBA should be a starter, or bedded in and a system established around him (and other key players) for the long-term benefit of the team.  Does he deserve credit for bringing HBA on at half-time? Does he fuck. Not after surrendering first-half to long-ball tactics. Deserves as much credit as McClaren for throwing on more strikers in the Eufa Cup when he was a couple of goals down the other year. When your plans fail so comprehensively and you're forced to change something, that isn't inspired/brave... it's desperate and a forced last resort.

Pig-sick of this fraud - strip Gupter of his award and give it to Pardew. He's a glorified PR man. Doesn't look like he has a foggiest about football - just prozone. :anguish:

[/still pissed off with first-half, and doesn't believe second half show against a team trying to protect their lead should paper over the cracks]

Nailed.

His behaviour in the dugout didn't look terribly classy.

Exactly what he had to do to mute MON

Na. Don't like to see that type of thing going down, really. Looks like we're lowering ourselves to mackem-level.

Wouldn't think twice of getting AVB in for him.

:pards:

Well duh.

Because hes done so well with a squad much better than ours ?

The Chelsea squad are looking after themselves. He's come in to freshen things up, that means get rid of old players on huge wages, said players have decided not to play for him because they don't want to be forced out of a cushy number.

Its quite simple why it hasn't worked, player power to the extreme. Big job for a man whose younger than some of his players, a step too far but a miles better manager than Pardew regardless how it turned out at Chelsea.

You might not like it, but you cannot argue against the reasoning.

Negative manager, clueless with attacking and creating space, so obvious with the quality of our players while playing positively ,we should be in control in most games. Still hope we can get someone in better than him in the summer. He has shown that he is incapable at the top half of the table, Jol would be a good replacement. Not sure about AVB but definately a step up from Pardew.

Looked like he was shouting over at O'Neill, then they had a bit of an altercation at some decisions. The atmosphere probably got to him, but he needs to stay the boss, imo.

Said players like Lampard who he left out many a time, while the guy has now still ended up their top scorer?

Oh right, that. Wouldn't disagree but i can live with that tbh - it's nowt you don't see on touchlines every week. It was a tempered affair with tackles flying in left, right and centre in the first half. There was virtually no football in the opening 30 minutes.

I'd like to give the players credit today for a stirring fight back. They only had 45 minutes to do it as Pardew conceded the first half with his abomination of a game plan, but once we had the right players in the right positions the players showed what they were capable of.

It wasn't AVB's plan, it was given to him by those above. You cannot blame him for this, its a total screw up by Chelsea, going on for years by not staggering the replacements for their older players. They've hung on too long, they rely far too heavily on them and cannot function without them.

Pardew is holding us back tbh, this good of players we have can play football...such a shame to only see glimpses of it.
