Ishmael
A decision I would not like to make. You'd have to use the money to buy 2 strikers and a midfielder minimum.
BONTEMPI
I'd like some wingers that can actually cross a ball please.
Dokko
I personally think the squad lacks quality over quantity. We've enough players, just a good chunk of them are championship quality.
Guest neesy111
I would like to know what we are planning to do with the dross in our squad. Lovenkrands, Best, Perch, Xisco etc.

Ishmael
Maybe put together a brochure and market them all, a la Owen?
Mowen
We need a striker but we won't spend enough money to buy one who's good enough. The best we can hope for is a loan deal for one out of favour - the likes of Keane or RSC. Maybe even someone like Vela? We've got plenty of people who can play up there but only one who's consistently any good.
Wil
A striker to play alongside/cover for Carroll is essential. Pardew would need to smooth the way by getting at least a couple off the books on loan. And a winger who is better than Jonas and Routledge. Those two additions would improve the situation a lot. But they'll have to be clever buys to get Ashley to cough up.
Darth Crooks
I would def take martins on loan until the end of the season AHMM! SPECULATION!
Jordan
Striker on loan and Ben Arfa permanent and i'll be happy.
Crumpy Gunt
We do need cover for LB but that really isn't a priority. Glad that this isn't something that has been forgotten. Just have to pray now that Pardew and the senior management acknowledge AND take actions. This will be about the 7th or 8th transfer window we'll be without decent cover at left back if it goes by this time without it being addressed. Big Geordie
As much as we need extra quality coming in, it's not gonna happen lads. Ashley's intent has always been to keep us up on the cheap. Nothing has changed in that respect. Even if we go down, Ashley won't lose because he'll still get parachute payments and has then got an 'excuse' to sell Carroll. Dark days ahead. Guest toonlass
Lw, cover for LB, strike partner for Carroll is what I'd like to see. We'll end up selling Barton for peanuts and bringing in David Wheater!
Disco
Any chance of getting vanaan back on loan? Why would he they want him to sit on the bench at us rather than on their bench?

TRon
Not really sure that the sort of money we'll spend will improve the squad much tbh. If Pardew can get the best out of the players here we should be ok for this season. He needs to lose the fixation with humping the ball long to Carroll at every opportunity and get us back to the passing football we are capable of playing. Hypothetical situation: Carroll/Nolan (one of the two) is seriously injured in the Wigan match. Ruled out for the rest of the season. Is this squad capable of soaking up this said hypothetical injury?

Erm, we're not replacing him. That was the whole point of the question. Is the current squad capable of soaking up injuries to key players? If it's not - obviously it isn't - then there is a definite need to strengthen. So yeah, try harder next time.

Strengthening would mean bringing in players who are better than we've got currently on the bench. Maybe we can get someone in on loan as I can't see us spending the necessary money. Redknapp wants to loan out Keane but that would probably mean us selling Carroll to Spurs in the summer. In which case I'd rather take my chances on Carroll staying fit.
