Stifler
Fucks sake. At the weekend Toronto lost 2-0 to New York City despite being the far better team. 20 minutes in to their derby against Montreal and Montreal take the lead on their first attack when Toronto have been the better team. Toronto could have had a penalty just before the goal as well.
Stifler
Toronto came from behind to win. The Toronto goalkeeper turns to the crowd and nicks one of the fans beers at full time.
Deuce
Toronto always have a shot at winning when Altidore-Giovinco-Bradley are all playing.

toontownman
Rookie of the year a Canadian two years in a row? Lots of time before we really can call him legit but Larin looks like he could become the real deal. Looks sharp and as comfortable as any other striker in the league. Kaizero
A club usually adopts the name "United" after two clubs in the same town has merged. Atlanta United
Kanj
Did they do that in DC or is that a United States reference
Kaizero
Did they do that in DC or is that a United States reference According to Wiki they chose United due to Leeds United being good at the time or something
Deuce
Did they do that in DC or is that a United States reference According to wiki: "The name "United" alluded to well-known European club names such as Leeds and Manchester United, and reflected the team's location in the capital of the United States." And it was still probably the least campy of all the original MLS team names. Its really not hard for MLS clubs to have names that both fit with American sports naming conventions and European football traditions. I even take issue with some clubs using "FC" simply because we don't call the game football in this country, it's clearly just a cheap nod to European clubs. Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Orlando City SC are perfect MLS names IMO. Wouldn't have been difficult at all for this new team to be Atlanta Soccer Club.
