Deuce
I blame Mike. It'll for sure be his favorite MLS team too.
Village Idiot
Think I'll support them. Never cared about baseball and I need an outlet for my big club douchebaggery if I go back to live in NYC.
Mike
Man City and the Yankees Hate levels for that team are going to be off the charts. I didn't get Yankees hate until this moment right here.
Mike
I blame Mike. It'll for sure be his favorite MLS team too. Still just going to wait for the Cosmos.
Mike
Haven't the Yankees been broadcasting Arsenal matches on their YES network? They get around. Yeah YES is a bit of a whore. Yanks, Nets and Arsenal. Who the fuck is a Yanks, Nets and Arsenal fan?
Deuce
Orlando City just got fucked over big time. A real shame tbh.
Toon Hoser
Figure most (all?) casual Yankee fans are also Man U fans as part of the great frontrunners fraternity. This Man City hookup might throw some people into a state of confusion. On second thought, probably not. They'll just hear "Manchester" and assume it's Man U. Why sweat the details? CHAMPIONS BABY! Part of becoming a big league is fucking over the people that care in favor of the people with the most money. Then why are the Bills still around? I understand the politics behind it. NY/NJ has difficulty supporting one MLS team as it is, whereas Orlando already has the infrastructure and support in place. I'd be fine if they both ascended, taking us up to 21. But I have a feeling Orlando will be put on the back-burner, especially if they opt to continue with the Cosmos as well.
cubaricho
This is so ridiculous. The people at the top of Orlando City are taking this too well. Total screw job here. They just waltz in, throw the money down, and create a franchise in 24 hours. Unbelievable.
timeEd32
NYC >>>>>>> Orlando Rich owners >>>> Existing fanbase Harsh, but true.

cubaricho
They are overlooking the fact that this will essentially be a Man City reserve squad. Having a single owner with two teams, each in a separate league, is a disaster waiting to happen. Garber has wanted this since he took over MLS, but like the article says, let's hope what they wanted is right.

cubaricho
The day Orlando City tops NYCFC in the MLS Cup will be a great day indeed. It will be very nice. We get our first crack this season at a MLS side on Tuesday. The Rapids are playing us in the Lamar Hunt Cup.
B-more Mag
If they get enough private/local funding for the stadium they've got a good chance in the next couple of years, though, yeah?
SEMTEX
Becomes less and less likely with each expansion team. The price is only going up. Bearing in mind David is going to get his paws in the mix soon too.
BillClinton
Will the league want to move past twenty teams though? Either way they will probably stick at this amount for awhile. Terrible way to waste the last spot. The league had been making all the right decisions lately up until this.

Terrible way to waste the last spot. The league had been making all the right decisions lately up until this. I'm not sure tbh. Vancouver, Montreal, and Portland all hit the ground running and assimilated rather fast. Makes sense to keep the league at an even 20 for now I suppose. Ameritoon
There was a quote from Garber saying there's still a lot of "activity" going on in terms of Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and a few others, but they want to make sure NYCFC is prepared and ready to launch in 2015. Could mean a few things, really.
