BrettNUFC
Nailed on to go to Villa. How's that? Colin says don't belive it, he has his heart set on the french revolution #zogonthetyne
AyeDubbleYoo
Surely if it was as easy as that, Villa would just have bought Zog when they sold Young? Apparently the Young money was to pay for Bent. Don't let anybody hear you say that transfer income can go to support past expenditure, there'll be a riot.

Ah yes, but their leaders saw the risk of relegation and gambled to stay up, had the club's best interests at heart you see. Ours just sold our best player to line their own pockets. Or something. Especially when we buy Zog for 12 million and then go on to sell Tiote for 15 million and claim we had to sell to cover the costs of the previous buy. Colocho
Nailed on to go to Villa. How's that? Colin says don't belive it, he has his heart set on the french revolution #zogonthetyne They've got the capital, and the need for a left-footed winger that can play on the left or right. Will complement Bent... We are not in the running, imo.

TRon
It would actually be quite a clever tactic to bid £4m. With such a low starting bid Villa would be tempted to jump in with a £5.2m bid which we would quickly match, then Zog would choose us once Wigan are forced to sell at the price both clubs have settled on
1964
That's a fairly simplistic view of the bidding process if you don't mind me saying. If the rules were they can only bid once and we can bid twice you'd be right

Guest johnson293
These must be the 'details' Lee Ryder promised.... But hopes of signing Neil Taylor appear to be in the balance, while there has been no progress on a bid to sign Charles N’Zogbia, with talk of a fresh approach denied by United sources today. And hopes of attracting a new signing before Sunday are evaporating by the hour. Suggestions that a fresh £4m bid had been tabled for Wigan Athletic star N’Zogbia have been played down, with the tedious saga set to continue after Aston Villa indicated they were also unwilling to match the £9m asking price Read More http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/07/14/joey-barton-nufc-young-guns-set-to-shine-72703-29052344/#ixzz1S57h5p7v
