Nice 3 game ban for Taylor on the way maybe? :dontknow:

Be almost worth it to see Sol Campbell up against Drogba and Torres. It'd probably kill him.

Did alreet last time out against them.

I can't watch Ameobi anymore - all he does is lope around, fouling and getting called offsides. Who seriously enjoys watching him out there? How many fans go to games wearing replica tops with Ameobi on the back? He's Championship quality at best - can't believe none of the decisionmakers at NUFC can't see that.

I think 95% of the support agree. The other 5% being the total idiots who ripped Carroll at Anfield last week despite the fact that this kid did more and gave more in 18 months than Ameobi has provided in 10 years. I have to say my whole match day experience is spoiled every time he appears on the team sheet. Really a perfect example of why this great club of ours has failed to deliver for years. I have to be honest and say I cannot fathom out how he has managed to play through so many managers. That said, the one who I have the most believe in, KK, nearly had him out the door.

I haven't missed a home game for years but have to admit I won't go to any testimonial if he is afforded one. The laziest player I have seen in over 40 years of loving football.

To be honest mate I don't think the fans were ripping him for his contribution more for the way he left.

As for Shola he's not first choice nor will he ever be. I think he'll see out his current deal then move down the leagues or retire.

Speaking of 'arguments', Enrique and Nolan had quite a heated exchange at one point during the first half about his defending.

The referee actually stopped Krul taking a goal kick to have a word with Nolan. Was a bit strange.

I noticed the argument, I'm not sure it was about defending.  It came out of nothing and isn't the first time those two have had a go at each other.

Just assumed it was about the defending because it came immediately after an attack in which we just them stroll through.

They're not idiots for ripping Carroll, you goon. I also think your maths is off as that was probably the entire away support that partook in that abuse.

Goon. Jeez man. I was there. It was a small percentage, a very small percentage and lets be honest that percentage of our away support are 'goons'. Boo Carroll and sing in praise of Ameobi this afternoon, despite the fact he did absolutely nowt except hit home a penalty. Not bad for over £40,000 a week. If I'm a goon then you're deluded mate.

Well I did not take part in the abuse and neither did a lot of the people around me but the abuse was certainly very vociferous.

Wasn't that the game where Kalou strolled past Taylor, cut inside Campbell, shot and Enrique deflected the ball (Past Krul inevitably) into the net?

You know what, let's not go with that line-up

Krul  6

Simpson  7

Taylor  7

Campbell  7

Enrique  6.5

Routledge  8.5

Guthrie  5

Tiote  7.5

Jonas  5

Carroll  7

Shola  3

Ranger  6

2 or 3 poor performances but mostly good. Routledge and Simpson shouldn't be broken up next game. Time for Jonas to sit back on the bench. He's been pitiful for the last 5 games now.

Sammy. Tomi plays for Whitley Bay.

Yes, you're right it is Sammy.  He looked good with the ball when they were knocking it about and looks like he could be a decent player when I've seen him playing for the kids and reserves.

the Ameobi legacy shall live on.

I know it's end of season and everything, but I swear we're getting worse. It's just 'hooof' a lot of the time as we're fairly clueless and the majority of attacks just keep coming down the left. Jonas was quieter than usual, but that's because Brum were actually clever and doubled up on him. If I supported any other team in the PL playing Newcastle would be a game I'd dread just because we seem to be pretty good at creating awful football matches. I know we've had some great games this year (Arsenal, Liverpool at home, Villa and Sunderland at home) but since Carroll left we haven't half served up some dross.

And Nolan. Fuck me, he drives me mental. I've never seen such an immobile central midfielder. The sponsors should be forced to explain that baffling decision. Only the strikers deserved it less.

Thought Nolan had a decent game today. Was actually noticable, which he definitely wasn't against Liverpool.

We conceded lots of late goals during mid season because we always try to attack attack and attack.  I couldn't blame Pardew for being so negative before we are really safe from relegation.

Have to say, you're doing a spot-on example of a 'goon' with these two posts. Quite how you've imagined Shola is on £40,000 a week, I have no idea  Also, you clearly can't differentiate between "giving more" (as in effort) and "reaching a higher level of performance" - either way, you're wrong on both counts and Shola has been unplayable at (sporadic) times over his career, Carroll's early departure means that the promise he showed this season will never go unfulfilled (as Ameobi's has done, only to flash up now and then to remind us of what we could have had).

I'd agree that our momentum has stalled in the second half of the season. Whether it was Carroll's sale or the normal way in which promoted sides find it more difficult as time goes on, I don't know. I don't think it's Pardew's fault - I think he's done well to keep things going, seeing we're not blessed with many outstanding talents at the moment.

If you don't keep moving forward, then you slip back. I think we will see some new players coming in, so I'm confident we'll push on from here.

I was quite annoyed that Stephen Carr was, by some distance, the best player on the pitch yesterday.
