Pata
As I said in the Mike Ashley thread it's exactly the reason we have nothing to look forward to. Any forward thinking club would be buying players to say to Cabaye this is the reason you don't have to leave as we are on the up and you can play a big part of it. But no fact cockney c*** thinks sell for 26 buy 12 = 14 million profit - nothing will change for years until this cancer is cut away. Like Everton selling Fellaini for £27m and getting McCarthy for half of that I suppose. The big reason Everton are where they are is not McCarthy but Lukaku and Barry or did you forget they signed them also even if it was just on loan. You just stay in you secluded little shed and w*** off over Ashley as he continues on. Two loan signings. If we sold Cabaye for £27m, got Cabella and two loans, I bet you'd be unhappy. f*** all to do with Ashley this. Yeah of course it is f*** all to do with him but to answer your question where are the two other signings then - average of 50,000 and your trying to say we should accept going nowhere - smell the coffee man will you or will it take another relegation charge to do that. If you were Cabaye, would you stay with us or move to PSG to play in the CL, get massive wages and get to play with players like Zlatan? There's obviously lot wrong with Ashley but I'm not expecting him to show the same ambition these Arab owners are showing.

I don't disagree but the problem is he shows NO ambition and that's the prime reason players will look to move on and your dead right I don't blame Cabaye in the slightest - he was out of order refusing to play but I certainly don't blame him for wanting to leave. sempuki
Cabaye appears to be the leader of our French foreign legion. If he goes that is sure to have a detrimental effect. You need to watch Spartacus! I am sure Cabaye (along with HBA) has been used a lot in recruiting players. You would think they would be happy for him personally moving on to better things but being a bit miffed at the same time that their mate has gone and the club is not exactly demonstrating a lot of ambition. duo
Will be gutted to see him go. Recon if only this club showed a bit of ambition he wouldnt be in such a hurry to leave. The writing was on the wall when JK arrived.
Pata
Would be nice if he showed some ambition tho Obviously, but I don't think Ashley's lack of ambition is to be blamed here. Cabaye would be likely to move in this situation even if we were fighting for top four regularly.

Eh? What is happening here happens to every club in the world bar Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Man City, Chelsea and now PSG due to their money. Your taking the p*ss? - only loan signing in the Summer which is below any other club in the Premiership never mind world football DESPITE making a profit last year and the multi millions from the Sky deal Fwiw, until Fellaini left, the only signing Everton had made during the summer was Barry on loan. If we'd sold Cabaye to Arsenal in the summer I guess we'd have signed someone else too. Alcaraz and Kone ?

BlueStar
Everton have done it for years. Lescott, Rodwell, Arteta, Fellaini...as much as Martinez is saying he's not for sale, if Man City or someone offers a daft bid for Barkley, he'll be next. But, even as Martinez concedes if they got a great offer they'd have to sell, compare how he talks about his players to what Pardew says "If I want a player I need to match the valuation to then put the other club and the player in a situation to make a decision," Martinez told the Sunday Mirror. "We have never been in a situation where the valuation has been matched with Leighton. "As a club we don't need the money. We don't need to balance the books and that is a situation we wanted to have - to make football decisions, not financial decisions. "We don't want to sell Leighton. When you are in a position when you have to bring money then are relying on what you can sell. We are not in that position. "We're not in talks with him about a deal. We don't have to say it publicly but nobody is for sale." He said: "We want to have Leighton [baines] for the long term and that will never change. Tony [Hibbert] is someone we want at the club as long as we can have him.

Tiresias
They have an owner who actually likes the club, but isn't rich enough to be able to turn down big offers. Curious if people here would want an owner with less money than Ashley but who has our interests at heart. I would.

Dr Venkman
On the plus side at least we wouldn't have to listen to Pardew try and flog him in every press conference he gives. It'll be someone else next. I am absolutely 100% convinced AP is on a bonus for % profit on transfers. I really would love to know where this daft notion came from apart from ridiculous paranoia Here's where it comes from................ AP is pretty much the worst paid manager in the top tier. MA pays all of his key staff bonuses based on performance in every single one of his businesses. It has been widely reported that MA has given AP an 'incentives' based contract - Llambias said so when he was in charge in his programme notes. Given that we know the top 4 is a pipe dream and unrealistic the next best thing is Europa league which we know the club don't want. So what is AP's target? Finish as close to, but not in, the Europa League every year and he'll get what? A sports direct mug? If MA's incentive is to tick the business over in as positive a financial state as humanly possible to attract a buyer at a premium, AP is absolutely vital in that. Which other managers would accept their best players being sold from under them and be completely complicit in it? What is the incentive for AP? Can only be financial. Call that paranoia if you wish. I'll call it reality. It's utter bunkum. We know quite a bit about Pardew and all the staff and players bonus schemes. There is absolutely sod all evidence for what you're suggesting. Except the post by the bloke who knew Pardew was being appointed even before Hughton was sacked, where he mentioned that part of Pardew's job was to keep operating costs down. Nothing, except that. sempuki
Where does he (present tense because he is still here) rank on our all-time Frenchies list? Behind Daveed and Robert for me. A total steal at £4.3 m though.

Yup same here, don't take a filthy rich owner to spend £4m on French players that Carr finds but it takes an owner who cares about the club to keep these type of players at the club.
