James
We still have to remember that Cabaye was perfectly entitled to buy out his contract in the summer for a quarter of the price if he wanted to go to PSG, so it is a good time to sell unfortunately. I don't see what the problem is....yes we want good playes at the club, but we have to let them go at a time that allows us to continue having good players. The opposite we have seen many a time where a player got signed for £17m and left for nothing after years of declining form. Continued reinvestment is the way forward. Now is the time to sell Cabaye, but we must get what follows right either now or in the summer.

With Ashley its always a good time to sell because it doesn't matter if the profit is 20p or £20 million it wont be reinvested into the first team, I f***ing hate that man Past record shows we will see something reinvested when we actually sell a player and have actually done it well! A chunk of £20m is better than a chunk of £5m. Not when the rest of the money goes to Ashley
AlanSkÃrare
Aye but the Webster ruling has happend like three times ever and the reason some s*** paper reported it was because Julien Laurens started some speculation on his own on Twitter, and came up with the idea himself. There's never been any real suggestion Cabaye was contemplating using that rule ffs.

That never fucking happens man Jonas Gutierrez. Whatever Cabaye was as a player he was a cunt who went on strike at his current club, and when at Lille disclosed his release clause to us. Had we again tried to keep him against his will he could have feasibly done this.

Haha you fuckin mug dont you realise that having Cabaye here for 4 more years and letting him leave for nowt is a better option than selling him now and giving the money to Ashley .......................for examples see Baines and Rooney

It's not as easy as him just deciding he's offski.
AyeDubbleYoo
It also never happens because players usually get their way when they want to move.

James
It also never happens because players usually get their way when they want to move. Too true. He got the move he wanted. Good riddance, he left Lille saying he needed a new challenge, then two and a half years later he is going back to his old challenge. very good player, turd mentality. Now let's move on and see what the future holds, it might be good, it might be bad, but no point looking back because Cabaye has fucked his own precious career up for the money. Stuy_O
Julian Laurens started that stuff off, and he's gone down in my estimation since. Seems a right little attention seeker. You would have to be pretty desperate to buy out 2 years of your deal to get away. And like mentioned before, it hardly seems a simple affair to carry it out. AyeDubbleYoo
Did he just say Cabaye would be able to buy himself out, or did he say he was actually planning to do it?
James
I certainly said could rather than would. It is the point at which valuations can decline as player commitment becomes more uncertain.
Stuy_O
Did he just say Cabaye would be able to buy himself out, or did he say he was actually planning to do it? He said we would be wise to cash in now due to his 'stability clause'. He then got a torrent of abuse similar to above actually. He did an interview with Cabaye and Debuchy a few weeks ago on BT, seemed very palsy with them. Made me wonder if the comments regarding Cabaye showed they were in cahoots and something had been said to him. Still seems hugely unlikely though, purely because of the fuck on it would going through court and that.

David Icke - Son of God
The Webster stuff is a sad indictment on the standard of journalism in this country. They basically ripped off Julien Laurens' tweets, who had no idea of the Webster ruling as it currently stands.
