The quotes that Goal.com story is derived from:

"The arrival of Fabricio complicated, but there is always a glimmer of hope. The most difficult issue is that Newcastle let him out because he sold a major striker, he is captain and above, reference, idol, and in the city they want much, "said Osvaldo Coloccini, the father who also serves as coordinator of the lower divisions of the Cyclone.

"It would be pleasant to spend the two in San Lorenzo, is the club we love. Fabricio is dying to get back, but is trying to make a graceful exit," said Osvaldo.

Regarding a possible solution to leave Newcastle to play in San Lorenzo Coloccini, the father said: "The contract of Fabricio is high for them and they should let him go there to save money."

All the Argieball teams are skint, they wouldn't be able to cough up a fee and he'd have to make a massive paycut. Worrying that it seems his heart is set on it, what has really gone on behind the scenes between him signing a 5 year deal and wanting to rip it up 6 months later?

Maybe what Macdonald said was actually true.

That article earlier alluded to them needing him to take a paycut and getting a sponsor on board to fund wages to even get their end sorted before the whole transferring of funds to us.

All seems very PR move from San Lorenzo. Wonder if they've a new president or holding elections at the moment.

I'd be flabbergasted if this happened.

Sounds like a bit of pandering to the local Argie fans to me. Would take near the same amount we paid for him to part with him imo.

The Macdonald story would explain the quite frankly disheveled performances from both him and Guti over the past three months.
