54
"Maybe if Coloccini had stayed on, he would have seen that out. He was absolutely phenomenal today. If you want an example of a centre-half playing where you have got to head it, kick it, cover people, get in the right position and then have the calmness to play, that was your example." He added: "I come from a famous football club, West Ham, and that was like watching Bobby Moore today. He was terrific. You have also got to understand - and it sometimes goes a little bit under the radar - at the Premier League level, what is asked of you physically." Ronaldo
Not that that's saying much. Since Shearer we've had some dreadful ones.
aussiemag
Incredible defender. Honestly think teams like City, United and Chelsea are crazy for not trying to sign him (They can fuck off if they want to). The guy is the classiest defender in the premiership by a country mile. Hes that good, if he played for any of those teams, it would go a long way to helping them win the title. So glad hes our captain. Our spine is mint. Krul, Coloccini, Cabaye, Ba/Cisse

aussiemag
Imagine him alongside Kompany. Just hypothetical not s*** stirring or anything. Would be immense. FM is so accurate , both were absolute class in 2005 version. Now they are the two best defenders in the EPL.
High Five o
He's hit 30 at exactly the right time, like. If you know what I mean. Yeah, better than Martins, who hit 30 like 10 years to late.

mattypnufc
Imagine him in the current Barca team. I'd be proud to see him grace such a prestigious team. Nah in all seriousness, he wouldn't look out of place at CB for them. Not one bit.

Feels great to have him sealed long term.
aussiemag
How would he rank in the world as far as centre-halves are concerned? Cant think of too many outstanding apart from Kompany, Hummels and Subotic. Terry/Ferdinand/Vidic are on the decline or injury prone.

Memphis
How would he rank in the world as far as centre-halves are concerned? Cant think of too many outstanding apart from Kompany, Hummels and Subotic. Terry/Ferdinand/Vidic are on the decline or injury prone. And Kompany's form has been a little spotty this season. Did you see his poor decision-making which led to Milner's red card against West Brom on Saturday? He hasn't seemed to be himself this year - and Man City have yet to keep a clean sheet in either the league or the CL.

Ameritoon
Is there a better footballing centre-half than Fabricio Coloccini playing in the Premier League right now? Back after injury his wonderful assurance and ease under pressure initially helped Newcastle play from the back and then assisted his 10-man team in holding on to a 1-0 lead for an hour. It is no coincidence Alan Pardew's side conceded an equaliser shortly after the Argentinian – restored to the team after a hamstring injury – departed suffering from cramp. His performance made one wonder what might have been had Jonathan Woodgate' date=' a similarly elegant defender, not suffered such bad luck with injuries and stayed fit. How Roy Hodgson could do with a Coloccini – or Woodgate in his pomp – for England now. [/quote']

Simply a joy to watch and proud to have him not only in our colors, but also as our club captain.
