taxfree
Krul Santon Vertonghen Colo Cissokho Imagine. Tiote in front of that and that's arguably one of the leagues best defensive units. With Saylor, Williamson, Simpson and Raylor as backups we would finally have depth. Still seems like wishful thinking mind. You reckon? Never going to happen. Hanshithispantz
Would people forgive no striker if we got Cissokho and a CB? We'd be a left back better off than we were in the summer (after Taylor's long term injury), so although I would accept it our squad would still be as threadbare as ever. That would be the prevailing school of thought, though I am an eternal optimist.
QBG
Where's all the Vertonghen talk coming from? Started in Dutch paper 'De Telegraaf', NE and National journos here picked it up, they all seem to have been given info that suggests there is something in it and that some discussions have taken place. TRon
Would people forgive no striker if we got Cissokho and a CB? We need all three but the defenders are more important if we are going to prioritise. A left back is still a really key position for us to fill. You only have to look at the impact Enrique has had on an otherwise ordinary Liverpool side to see what a difference it makes. He's been better than the rest of their summer signings put together. Cheers Signing those two would be amazing like. It would probably make the best defence we've had since the 20's or something

Sifu
Here is said tweet from Douglas: Mark Douglas @MsiDouglas Mark Douglas No bid made for Aly Cissokho from #nufc, despite 'French reports'. Defender is in the UK but Toon not in yet. Would cost £10m plus I reckon
ponsaelius
Misleading tweet. Is he saying Cissokho is in the UK or the defender we want is UK based?
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Oh well Tomkins it is. Pardew can f*** off if it's Tomkins like He'd do a decent job here I think. Far more realistic anyway- young, can play right back, probably happy to sit on the bench when Taylor's fit next year. Unlike Vertonghen.
Dr Venkman
i would say the toon not in yet bit implies he means Cissokho is in the UK
